putting a loved pet down was not easy! not easy at all! it was probably one of the hardest experiences i've been through in my life!
we had a mobile vet come to our place to administer the process. though it was a bit more expensive it was certainly easier on mow-mow, brian and i. the vet was so nice, he wasn't in a rush (the whole process was ( Read more... )

dear rizie
i just got a cat for the 1st time in my life last year in the summer. she was kind of thrown on to brian and i but she has become the highlight of my life. raised w/ dogs so didn't really apprecciate but now i cannot imagine living without her. she lets me spoon her when brian's away and she comforts me when i'm sad and is weirdly regal and witchy but also very soft like a little stuffed shrimp. she is also 11 years old!!! i'm glad brian was there for you. you gave your cat a good life adn i strive to give my cat that too. tell your cat i say hi when she shows up in your dreams! lots of love to you

yeah..it's strange not having around at my place. she was a very social cat and would greet us at the door when we came home. she was the type of cat that needed and i stress needed attention!!! if you didn't touch her upon coming in, she would talk and meow at you until you rested your hand on her. she was a special cat that accompanied me on the bed when i slept.
i'm sure your cat is loving her life with you guys and away from the big ol' dogs..she's getting so much attention now!

Rizie, I am so sorry you lost mow mow.
I remember when my cat got hit by a car growing up and we buried her in the backyard.
I wanted to pet her (even though she was dead) but my Dad wouldn't let me.
Losing a pet is so sad. You gave mow mow a great life with lots of love I'm sure.

growing up i've always had cats but i've never seen them die, we would always have to give them away before i got truly attached to them. so this experience was so different from any other.
i'd like to think that mow-mow was a princess living with us..she was spoiled for sure!

i wish i would've had the chance to meet her.
she always looked so beautiful in pictures.

the best thing to do is just look back and reflect on all the happy times. it always helps make you feel better.

hi rizie,

i'm really sorry to hear about mow-mow. i had to put lenny down a year and a half ago, and it was one of the hardest things i'd ever had to do. it was a similar situation, though (with a tumour) and in the end, all you can do is find reassurance in knowing that mow-mow was very much loved and cared for while in your care.

oh man..i had no idea that you had to put lenny down. it's so sad but yeah, like you said there's the reassurance of a well loved cat that was in your company.
i'll be adopting another cat or cats in the next little while, so i'm excited to see what new adventures come my way with new critters. though mow-mow will never be replaced, she'll forever be the queen of cats!
