Dudley, his friends, his family, and boxing.

Since Dudley keeps showing up in my fic, I've been doing a bit of rereading and research. He is not a popular character with readers, perhaps one might even call him a hated character, and yet- he's got some good things going for him.

Why Dudley is Awesome. Let me count the ways. )

You amaze me. I loved reading this introspective piece. I do feel that Dudley does enjoy beating up little kids and teens alike, however, but your information was truthful and not fanon. Right on!

Wow. I have had a definite fascination with the Dursleys for quite a while and think that with proper information about the child they were receiving (as opposed to Harry being left on their doorstep in the dead of night), they would have been very loving relatives instead of the vicious twits depicted.

However, on the other hand, no one made them treat Harry the way they did, so the blame is more than one-sided. Either way, I find myself wondering what sort of people the Dursleys were and how their lives went after the seventh book -- alas, since JKR seems to think that sort of thing is boring I'll have to make due with essays and fanfiction, which is fine with me.

I'm glad I came across this.

*cheers*

Wow, that's quite a little goldmine of information. It makes me feel ashamed of myself for not thinking to research boxing, when I'm a Dudley supporter. I agree that he has a lot of redeeming qualities, and I'm quite glad that you've pointed out a few I hadn't thought over before.

Thank you for sharing this, it's awesome! :D
