“Kao, wake up…” Die whispered in the older man’s ear, receiving a drowsy moan in return.
Kaoru, still sleepy and not ready to get up yet, turned to the other side of the bed, covering his face and ears with the fluffy pillow he had been hugging a moment ago.
Unfortunately, Die, being the pest that he is, grabbed the said pillow, and in a sing song manner, said, “Kaoru, it’s time to wake up!!!”
The older man groaned, choosing to turn on his stomach instead of facing his annoying, albeit adorable lover. Why was he here again? In his bed, ruining the peacefulness of his room, invading his home? Oh. Yeah.
Yesterday, Die moved in. Four years into the relationship, and they felt it was finally time to live together. But then again, despite being used to waking up beside the redhead, he was still surprised at how energetic Die could sometimes be in the morning. This being one of those said mornings where his lover is could not wait to start the day - at his expense.
He could feel Die’s intense stare at the back of his head, like it could wake him up. Sure, it he’s already awake, but he’s not going to give up his bed that easily for the other’s satisfaction. He smirked, silently waiting what his lover will do next.
“Kao-kun~” Die whined near his ear. Kaoru froze when he felt silky tongue lick his earlobe. Trying to suppress a moan, he shivered instead when Die blew warm air in the shell of his ears.
“Kao-kun, wakey wakey~” the moment those seductive plea registered on his mind, Kaoru knew he lost in his own game. Sighing in defeat, he flipped to face the other. Circling his arms over the Die’s neck, he brought him down for a kiss.
Too bad, Die broke it first with a sigh. Pouting in annoyance, he again faced the other direction, away from the man.
“Come on out if you’re ready…” He heard, causing him to sit up and look with a baffled expression towards his lover. How dare he ignore him like this! But all he saw was the retreating back.
Combing his hand through his hair, he left the bed with a huff. He fumed, deciding if silent treatment would be better than a lecture. But once outside, he was actually surprised when a smell of food greeted his nose. He heard his tummy rumble.
“Oh, there you are,” Die greeted while he put the utensils on the table. “I made breakfast already so you can stop staring there and start eating here.”
“So, what is this all about?” he asked, joining Die on the table. He usually ate oats or cereals in the morning, never having the time to cook food, or rather, being too lazy to. So seeing Die preparing this for him, he could feel his heart doing summersaults.
“Well, I thought that since we live together now, then I might as well do what my mom did for my dad way before…” Die answered cheekily despite having that pink tinge gracing his features.
Kaoru smiled, his rare, endearing smile only Die could see. He could not stop that warm feeling spread through him. Oh, how he love this man.
“I love you, too,” Die said in response. He voiced his thoughts without being aware of it.
But instead of being embarrassed, he scooted near his younger lover and gave him a peck on the lips. Then proceeded to eat the delicious food offered to him.
Nobody said a word after that. No words were needed. Both men ate in silence and complete understanding.
Moving in was certainly fun.
They could live like this for the rest of their lives.
And he'll make sure they would.
Him and Die.
