VACATION POST: ENTERTAINMENT

When we returned to Lisbon on Saturday, September 15th, we contacted our taxi driver-tour guide Rufena about the tickets to the Benfica game that she was to purchase for us. She came through for us, but the only negative thing was that the tickets were way up in the nosebleed section. It was our fault--we had told her we didn't want to be too ( Read more... )

Stadiums always manage to bring a weird glow to my eyes. Lovely pictures, love. I wish I could've been there with you guys. (I have to go to Mediamarkt tomorrow... How cool is that? XD)

It's so off-topic here, but seriously: WHY on earth are Boca 2-0 down? And how the hell was Banega red-carded??

OMFG, I'm watching that game too!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes!!! I mean, EVER BANEGA?????? And I am SO SERIOUSLY itching to post an entry to hot_argie_love!!!!! But I have SO MANY entries mixing in my mind!!! I have to do ONE of them! River Plate are HOT right now it seems, especially Radamel Falcao! I saw them play against Rosario and it was INCREDIBLE!!! Today it seems like they are on FIRE against Boca! But Boca are not playing AT ALL well, which is probably why Ever fouled that guy.

Okay, gotta get back to the game!!! This is Argentina!!! ANYTHING can happen!!!

I was just seriously wondering why River are suddenly doing so fabulously - even if they win this match they're still 'only' on #7, right? Really amazing. And I couldn't believe it myself - Éver always looks like he couldn't even hurt a stupid fly.

But well, you're definitely right. It's Argentina, it's the Superclásico - anything can happen. *le sigh*

Yeah, the Estadio holds 65,000 people. There were only 34,000+ there for this game, though. We probably could have moved down but we were too butt-lazy. LOL.

Oooooh, I'm so envious! The atmosphere, the pretty stadium - and an eagle? WOW! I've never been such a big Benfica fan, but I'd love to have been there with you! :D

Can't wait for the picspams you're planning! Especially Quaresma, mmmmmh! :D And is there a chance to see more of Rui Costa? Because I'm very intrigued now. (Yes, even though he used to play for Milan. XD)

Nuño Gomes totally reminds me of Roque Santa Cruz. O_O But yes, pretty.

I wasn't that much of a Benfica fan before either (I actually like FC Porto out of the Bwin liga), but I did want to see the eagle and was not disappointed!!! But the fans were incredible, and so was the gorgeous stadium, so now I LOVE Benfica!!! Actually, because it was International Week while we were there and the leagues were not in action, it was very difficult to try to plan to see a game while we were en route. I wanted to see Sevilla so badly, but they were not playing while we were there. We would have gone to a Recreativo game because we passed by Huelva on our way to Cadiz, but no league games at all that weekend. So we had to wait until we were back in Lisbon on the following weekend in order to catch a game. (Next time I'll have to plan it better!)

Ahhhh...isn't Quaresma unbelievably sexy? Did you see my little post on jennis_footie? Unfortunately, I found a lot more luscious pics of him after I had posted it, so maybe I'll spam him again. Goodness knows, probably no one will complain. LOL ( ... )
