The black looks sleeker, as it usually does on just about anything. And I don't think black guitars only equal goth rock. Dave Matthews has used a black acoustic for many years, and he's about far from the goth scene as you can get.
And need I mention the original Man In Black...Johnny Cash?
Hahaha, well it'd be something different at least.
Black is a very very standard guitar color. It's sleek and nondescript, but it doesn't stand out much either. It's sort of the non-color for a guitar. So out of the choices I'd probably go w/red for the fact that it would stand out.
But then again my electric is bright, shiny crayola green, so.... take this w/a grain of salt.
