SHORT PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: With his blonde hair and dark brown eyes, Adrian is an attractive - and fairly young-looking - man. He stand at nearly 6 feet tall, and years of athletics have given him a fit body, not overly muscular, but sturdy. The near-constant sunlight year-round in Miami has given him a golden brown tan, bringing up freckles across the bridge of his nose, cheeks and shoulders that weren't as noticeable before. The crows feet near the corners of his eyes show up when he smiles - which he does often because he knows it is one of his best features. He's no Brad Pitt, but he's good-looking enough to turn heads and to get by on charm where his intellect falls short. Adrian is also always well-groomed, save for the facial hair that is often found on his cheeks and jaw. He keeps his hair short so it is easier to manage, and his style of dress is generally the same as the rest of him: clean and simple, but obviously fashion-conscious. He prefers simple clothing and colors over anything flashy.

PERSONALITY: To survive in the world of corporations and big-business, one must be a few things: ruthless, intelligent, creative. One must have guts - or "balls" as heard frequently around the office. When describing Adrian, those words would not be the first that would come to mind. The first two words that might describe him would be "affectionate" and "vain" (or "shallow"). Adrian has always felt comfortable around the opposite sex, and he's very much the sort of man to offer hugs, pats on the shoulder (or butt), kisses on the cheek. He's comfortable with his body and his sexuality, but he does not always see how his actions are interpreted. To many women, he can actually be sort of sleazy and forward. He doesn't see it that way at all. He's simply friendly, fun and yes, he is a flirt. Adrian sees himself as a nice person, and he really is. His actions are often misinterpreted because he does not understand boundaries, despite attending several sessions on sexual harassment. Adrian is also very vain and shallow: he grew up in wealth and it is honestly all he knows. He likes to look good, and knows how to dress himself to appear his best. It is very important to him that he appear successful and happy, and he does that by filling his stylish condo with the latest gadgets and technologies. He is also very picky when it comes to women: only the best and most attractive will do. He does not care about age, so long as she's willing to look good on his arm and buy him nice things.
Adrian is far from ruthless and naturally intelligent, but he is a hard-worker and very determined once he sets his mind to something. As a Leo, he is naturally stubborn and proud. He has trouble admitting defeat and rarely changes his opinion, even in the face of fact or at the request of others. Adrian is also very impulsive. He jumps head-first into projects (or at women) with little thought of the consequences. These traits are important ones to have; what he lacks in intelligence, he makes up for by working long hours and charming the pants off anyone who might leak a negative story about his beloved boss. Adrian is, obviously, a very loyal person. Once you are on his good side, you are there for good... or at least until you betray him. Once that happens, he is very unlikely to forgive you - ever. The downside to his blind loyalty is that he often ignores the truth about a person if the truth would change his perspective and trust. He is blindly loyal to the Vice President he works for; no matter what anyone might say about her, he will always believe that she is a good person, deep down, because he knows her best. This is where his stubbornness becomes something to have on your side: he will fight hard for those he cares about and trusts, and it is only when those people are in danger that any bit of ruthlessness comes out.
Along with being generally naive about the people around him, Adrian is also naive and judgmental about the rest of the world. He often tries very hard to get out of overseas trips, unless it involves going to Europe, because Europeans are actually cultured. Adrian tries to be as well-groomed and upper-class as possible, but that is only a mask for the rough man from humble beginnings inside. The only real hint of the gold old Southern boy is a tendency to avoid swearing (except for in private, when he uses "fuck" a lot) and a tendency to include meaningless and silly clichés in his pattern of speech. One of his favorites is "fuller than a wood tick." It is a habit he has tried hard to break, but his grandmother's influence will not be broken. Given his background, it is no wonder that Adrian is very composed on the outside, charming and a true gentleman. He is also very resentful and bitter towards his family; if a person wants to get him riled up, the best and quickest way is to mention his family.

HISTORY: Adrian Isaac Montgomery was the second child of three born to Edward and Jane Montgomery of , Georgia. His father was a well-known lawyer in the area. He had joined his own father's law firm immediately out of law school and done well for himself there, making a name for himself within the law firm itself and in the area. He was the only son and, therefore, the only one of the children fit to succeed his father as partner. He, in turn, hoped to turn his eldest son into a hot, young-shot lawyer like he had been in his youth. His mother was also well-known for doing what she did best: homemaking and cooking. In their well-to-do suburb, mothers very rarely did anything apart from raise children (and even then, they often had help), cook, clean (and then, too, sometimes they had a maid), attend book groups, knitting groups, tea parties. Looking back on it, Adrian often describes his childhood as straight out of Wisteria Lane (not that he ever watches Desperate Housewives, of course; but his sister does!). Everything was perfect and in its place; children were rarely messy, unless they were participating in some sort of sporting event. In short: Adrian grew up among wealth and extravagance, among Southern hospitality and charm.
Between his older brother and his sister, Adrian was the one with the most freedom growing up. His other brother, Edward III, was being molded to be the perfect Southern gentleman and a partner for his father. His sister, Anna Grace, on the other hand, was a beautiful Southern belle; her job, after attending college of course, was to get married. She was far smarter than Adrian, but knew her father would not take her seriously as a lawyer - or as an intellectual person. This should have been an ideal situation for someone to grow up in: few expectations, few limits. Instead, Adrian found he really wanted to work with his father, especially once his older brother switched his major from law to engineering, and then even more once Adrian himself began attending college at the University of Georgia in Athens. His brother was practically disowned for it, but the family had Adrian to fall back on and Adrian, thrilled to finally be the center of attention he had always wanted to be, reveled in it. He was never the best student, caring more about planning the next party with his fraternity brothers and which girl he was going to hook up with next, but he did well enough to pass, knowing that his father wouldn't care what his grades looked like, so long as he passed the bar exam.
He did pass the bar exam and as expected, began working for his father immediately. Though everyone knew what he was being groomed for, most of the lawyers and assistants knew he didn't have the same spark that some of the other lawyers did. Still, he was the son of a partner, and he was able to convince most people that he just needed to get some experience in the field. To his dismay, his sister also followed in his footsteps, attending law school (and even getting her Master's, as he had not done). She, too, was offered a job with her father's firm, though it was expected that she would only be there for a few years before she got married and had children - an indefinite maternity leave. Instead, she flourished - and got married, to boot. The last straw came shortly before Adrian's twenty-sixth birthday: his father let him go. Said it just wasn't working out; he wasn't that great of a lawyer, and his sister was much better, so she would be taking his place. It was a crushing blow to his ego, and it infuriated him that his family would turn their backs on him.
What did Adrian do in response? He moved to Miami, Florida. Shortly after that, his father passed away - from what they were told was a heart attack, but no one was sure - and the law firm slipped out of Montgomery hands without his father's presence. His sister went on to marry and get pregnant, quitting her job and never looking back, as expected. The change of pace was good for Adrian, in a way. He was away from his family and everyone who knew the Montgomerys. On the other hand, he had few skills outside of having a bachelor's degree in law and having passed the bar exam in Georgia. He would have to pass the Florida exam if he wished to practice there, but after everything that happened, he had no interest in it. Suddenly on his own, Adrian needed his own meal ticket, so to speak. He was used to gliding along on his parents' fame and fortune, and very much not used to having to make his own way. That brought him to an upscale hotel bar in Palm Beach, Florida, where his years of throwing parties for his fraternity did him well, despite never having worked as a bartender officially. The money was... well, considering how high the cost of living was in the area, the money was not very good. Adrian was lucky that his grandmother took pity on him and bought a condo for him in nearby Lake Worth. That helped him - though with Adrian's complete inability to save money, it didn't help that much. It wasn't until he met Mrs. Gloria Presswood that his life took a turn for the better. She was a local - a wealthy, attractive thirty-eight year old woman who began coming into the bar on a regular basis, once she met Adrian. Her husband, he learned, was having an affair, but she didn't want to leave him because she was afraid she would be cut off from all of his money. Over the course of a few months, a relationship of their own developed - under the guise of him helping her arrange a divorce and take half of his fortune. She kept him afloat in the upper class world he had grown up in and felt comfortable him, and she was the one who recommended he apply for the job at Vance Corporation. "The young bitch" - also known as the woman her husband had the affair with - was applying, too, and she thought it would be positively delightful if Adrian stole it from her.
Which was exactly what he did.
The woman moved away not long after he was given the position, after winning a hefty divorce settlement. Adrian forgot about her rather quickly; there were so many other beautiful (and rich!) women in Palm Beach. And even more in Miami itself! His new job paid well, and he was working for a very powerful woman, which he had to admit was very exciting. Life was damn good, until all those rumours began flying about the way Vance Corporation was expanding and building factories in Asia. Adrian has been working for the East Coast Vice President for four years now, which is far longer than he really expected to be working for her (what he had hoped for had been a promotion, but once he saw that she might actually taken over for Mr. Vance one day, he decided to stick it out. That and he senses he knows too much to be let go.), but he's damn good at his job.Type your cut contents here.
