The Digital World

The Digital World is an other worldly dimension composed entirely of data. There exist countless Digital worlds across the multi-verse, all of them possessing Digimon and other forms of digital life. Most Digital Worlds were formed as a response to the creation of ENIAC, the first computer, and was given shape by the nature of both the data being recorded on computers that followed. A second, equally powerful influence was the effect of emotional “energy” from the real worlds, which shaped the forces of the Digital World their power and substance. Digimon became very receptive to the emotions of human beings, and thus, became more and more like them. It became known that in many versions of the Digital Worlds that a bond between a human and a Digimon could cause a Digimon to grow exponentially in power.

The computer known as ENIAC was the one constant between the various iterations of the Digital World. And all “versions” of ENIAC became linked by one evolved consciousness throughout time and space. Eventually, this led to the birth of one central ENIAC - a single core intelligence that delegated to its various incarnations. This ENIAC also created its own Digital World, but this one was unique. This one culled data and emotional energy from all existing universes in the creation of this one. The result was a Digital World not bound to any one reality, but was instead one of its own. It had no “real world” to parallel it.

After its work was done, the core ENIAC split itself into two parts. One became known as Yggdrasil, and the other Ymir. Yggdrasil would be the “god” of the Digital World that governed Digimon and ensured the Digital World's safety. Ymir would be the unconscious half... a simple, and yet complex system, that would ensure the technical aspects of the Digital World remained in order. Among these two powers, Yggdrasil was the one that made decisions... effectively making Yggdrasil the brain and Ymir the body.

Eventually, however, a crisis came to the Digital World. This crisis was known as the Digital Hazard. Seven “dark ones” were what caused this, triggering a chain reaction that would have led to the breakdown of all data in the Digital World. Through their power, they tainted the Digital World and its inhabitants, upsetting the balance between the forces that held the Digital World together. Yggdrasil had no choice... it had Ymir break down the Digital World to its core using a program called the X-Virus, and start it anew. However, while Yggdrasil only planned for a select few Digimon to survive in this new world, many others survived through the power of an antibody that protected them from the X-Virus. What's more, the seven dark ones were able to slip through and survive as well.

Years have passed, and much of what occurred in the Digital World's past has been forgotten. Digimon who possess the “X-Antibody” have declined in number, but still exist as a minority. The seven dark ones have remained in the shadows, quietly spreading their influence in another attempt to upset the balance of their world. There are three main continents of the Digital World: Urd, Skuld, and Verdandi, which is in turn separated into smaller areas that are presided over by Ultimate-level area leaders. At the center of the Digital World is Terminal, the Golden Continent, where Yggdrasil rests.

In response to the continuing threat of the dark ones... or rather, the Seven Demon Kings, Yggdrasil has begun to pull Tamers into the Digital World, in the hopes of using their power to combat them. But in doing so, it has also upset the barrier between dimensions, which result in a growing instability in the Digital World's structure...

Is another Digital Hazard approaching?

Urd
The easternmost continent, Urd, has the most unspoiled wilderness in the Digital World. Its three main areas, D'Ango Forest, Tetha, and Goc Desert, while possessing small villages, are just about entirely wilderness. The exceptions are Tetha and the Royal Base, which are a major urban center and military base, respectively.

D'Ango Forest
D'Ango Forest is home to a number of Beast digimon that identify with the Nature Spirits family. The climate here is mostly a temperate one, with winters that are cool and summers that are warm. In general, it is similar to the Pacific Northwest of America from the planet Earth. There are a number of Insect/Planet and Mutant digimon who live here as well, but they generally favor the more humid climate of the neighboring Dokako Jungle. Bird digimon and other Wind Guardians do find this place comfortable, however.

Key Locations
Saber Mountains - A small mountain range separating D'Ango Forest from the Goc Mountains. The tallest peak is Mount Leo, and it is where the Area Leader of D'Ango Forest, SaberLeomon, resides.
Hot Springs - A good sized location resting at the northern base of the Saber Mountains. A rather good sized settlement has sprung up here, run by a group of Toucanmon that allow both Tamers and Digimon to use the springs and have a good time... for a price, of course.
Sirius Village - The largest of the small settlements in D'Ango Forest. SaberLeomon's subordinate, MachGaogamon, oversees this location. It is populated mostly by dog-like or wolf-like digimon.

Noteworthy Digimon
Common Digimon - Bearmon, Labramon, Gaomon, Gabumon, Garurumon, Gaogamon, Grizzmon, Leomon, J-Mojamon, Boarmon, Hawkmon, Aquilamon
SaberLeomon - The Area Leader of D'Ango Forest. Though he is known to have a temper, he is generally wise and has endured a number of battles. He is firm and respected by almost all, even Digimon outside of his area.
GrappLeomon - One of SaberLeomon's subordinates, who commands his army of J-Mojamon and Boarmon. He is very level-headed and shares many of SaberLeomon's ideals.
MachGaogamon - Another one of SaberLeomon's trusted subordinates. He's a bit more hot headed than GrappLeomon, and enjoys a good fight. He is in charge of Sirius Village, where he has his own squad of specially trained Gaogamon and Garurumon.
The Toucanmon Bros. - The five digimon who are in charge of the Hot Springs. They're generally very hospitable, but very greedy.

Dokako Jungle
To the south of D'Ango Forest lies Dokako Jungle. Dokako Jungle is perennially humid, and suffers heavy rainfall at particular times of the year. Dokako Jungle also has small settlements, most of which are built into the trees. A number of wild digimon also have colonies here. Most of the Digimon who live here are Insect/Plant and Mutant digimon that identify with the Jungle Trooper and Unknown Families. Tropically themed digimon like Muchomon, Toucanmon, and Deramon live here as well, as well as several species of Reptile digimon..

Key Locations
Tyrant Hive - The headquarters of TyrantKabuterimon. It is a mass of plants and dirt fashioned into the shape of a fortress. Though it looks crude, it is well fortified, and attacking it would be very risky.
Kunemon Hive and DoKunemon Hive - Two hives of Child-level Insect digimon that live in close proximity to one another. The Kunemon tribe is generally even tempered, while the DoKunemon tribe will attack anyone that enters their territory. The venom of both digimon is deadly.
Flower Paradise - The largest settlement in Dokako Jungle, made up entirely of Plant digimon that resemble flowers. They have a number of rare flowers, which are treasured as gifts or as ingredients in medicine. Most of the digimon here are female and are very friendly.

Ookuwamon - One of TyrantKabuterimon's generals. Among the two, he is the most violent and quick to anger.
AtlurKabuterimon - One of TyrantKabuterimon's generals. He is more or less Ookuwamon's direct opposite, and is more level headed and less quick to resort to violence.
Lotusmon - The head digimon of the Flower Paradise. She has a great knowledge of her plants and the medicines that can be derived from them. She also has a reputation for being very friendly.

Goc Desert
A parch, arid desert lies to the west of D'Ango's Saber Mountains. This area is dangerous to traverse, both because of the environment and the natives. There is little water and food, and most of the digimon that live here are wild. Those that aren't mostly consist of raiders. Goc Desert is constantly arid all year round. Most of it is uncharted.

Key Locations
Bandit Caverns - The headquarters of Scorpiomon and his group of bandits. The entrance of these caverns is thought to actually be buried under sand, and only digimon that can burrow through it can reach them. It is here that they keep the mass of treasure that they have collected.
Life Oasis - The shining star of the Goc Desert. No one digimon controls this particular location, and Scorpiomon brutally punishes anyone who even tries. It is the one place that food and water is in ready supply.

Noteworthy Digimon
Common Digimon - Yanmamon, SandYanmamon, Drimogemon, NiseDrimogemon, Gazimon, Armadimon, Greymon, Tyrannomon, Revolmon, Starmon, MameTyramon, Monochromon, Triceramon

Royal Base
A small territory lying between D'Ango Forest and Dokako Jungle. A huge fortress in the shape of a golden beehive, it also has influences from European castles. Though the actual territory is small, the Royal Base boasts strong military power and the ability to travel very quickly and in large numbers. The Royal Base's agents travel and perform tasks all over the Digital World, in addition to performing tasks at the Royal Base itself.

Key Locations
Meister Castle - Though it could be called the actual, physical Royal Base, it is distinct and lies at the center of the Area. This is where TigerVespamon leads, and where young Pupumon and Pururomon are raised.
Honey Fields - The rich cultivation lands surrounding the Royal Base. It consists of fields of flowers and small honey making hives. These are tended to mostly by FanBeemon.

Noteworthy Digimon
Common Digimon - FanBeemon, Stingmon, Waspmon, Dinobeemon, CannonBeemon, JewelBeemon
TigerVespamon - TigerVespamon is the leader of the Royal Base. He is generally easy going and friendly to Tamers. TigerVespamon is also something of a military genius, and other Area Leaders come to him for aid in conflicts.

Tetha
Tetha is a floating island that hovers over the eastern coast of Urd. It has one of the oldest cities in the Digital World, which has been allowed to prosper due to the fact that it is cut off from the mostly chaotic wilderness that covers most of the continent. Though it was originally home to only Bird Digimon and other Wind Guardians, Tetha has attracted a wide variety of Digimon associated with a number of families. It is a mecca of culture, trade, and commerce, and its Area Leader, Hououmon, was respected throughout the Digital World. Tetha consists of the city proper and a large, open plain on the Western side of the island.

Key Locations
Hououmon's Roost - Located on the Northern tip of the island is Hououmon's Roost. It is where he can sit and meditate on manner of issues. It consists of ruins from the culture that first settled on Tetha.
Tetha Constabulary - The headquarters of Tetha's Police Force. It generally resembles a gigantic aviary, with many digimon coming and leaving. The police force consists of mostly Peckmon, who are active in the day, and Owlmon, who are active in the evening.
Ventus Square - Located in the heart of the city. Ventus Square has most of the city's businesses, and is also the city's cultural center.
Phoenix Colosseum - One of Tetha's oldest structures. Here, Tetha's most popular sport, Windball, is played. Most of its players are Wind Guardians, and digimon come from all over the Digital World to participate. The known teams are the Tetha Tornadoes, the Dokako Dynamos, the D'Ango Daredevils, the Neon Knights, and the Sanctity Squires. Other sports, such as the newly established Tamer Tournament, and most important assemblies occur here.
Ocean Love Eatery - Otherwise known as “MarineAngemon's restaurant.” It's the most popular restaurant in Tetha, and is a real rags to riches story as far as businesses go. It's well known for being able to accommodate a large number of customers without having reservations.
Wizardmon and Sorcermon's One Stop Shop of Magical Convenience - Yeah, no one knows quite what the hell is up with this place either. Its owners advertise say that they deal in plot devices, whatever that means.
Tetha Hospital - The most advanced hospital in the Digital World, except maybe for the one in Neon City.
Burgermon's Restaurant - Another restaurant. It is unknown if it has any connection to the digimon in Hamburger Digimon Village.

Noteworthy Digimon
Common Digimon - Muchomon, Peckmon, Owlmon, Piyomon, Pteranomon, Akatorimon, Kokatorimon
Ravemon - The digimon closest to Hououmon. Yatagaramon used to lead Tetha's Air Force, which defends it from outside invasion. Being a Bewitching Bird digimon, he has a large amount of knowledge about Demon digimon and areas like the Dark Area. However, after Hououmon's death, he was given power by the Holy Beasts and evolved to Ravemon, becoming the new Area Leader. But Ravemon holds a dark secret...
Hououmon - The former Area Leader of Tetha. Wise and seemingly incorruptible, he is one of the oldest digimon alive. He is rumored to have been a member of the civilization that founded Tetha, and has a good deal of knowledge about the Digital World's history. He seems to be constantly saddened by something... perhaps memories of all the friends that he has outlived and left behind. Recently, Hououmon was killed and permanently deleted. Ravemon is his replacement.
Chief HippoGryphomon - HippoGryphomon is in charge of the Tetha Constabulary. His direct subordinate is Chief Owlmon. He's rumored to be a big fan of windball, and constantly argues with MachGaogamon from D'Ango Forest about the rivalry between the Tetha Tornadoes and the D'Ango Dynamos.
Chief Owlmon - HippoGryphomon's subordinate. Those who visit him during the day find him to be ineffective due to the fact that he's asleep all the time. During the night, however, he is more active and a very shrewd investigator. He leads the Tetha night watch.
MarineAngemon - The proprieter of the Ocean Love eatery. He's an immigrant from Axoryi, and how he managed to create such a successful business is astounding. He's open and friendly to his customers, and works as a waiter as well as a manager.
Tetha Hospital Staff - Quite simply... well, the Tetha Hospital Staff. Its most talented physician is an Akatorimon named Dr. Cocks. Other staff members include Dr. Belso, the overweight Boogeymon chief of medicine, the annoying and needy intern J.B. (a JewelBeemon), and the resident Peckmon psychiatrist, Dr. Peckers.
Wizardmon and Sorcermon - No one knows what the hell is up with these guys. They run the One Stop Shop of Magical Convenience.
Tetha Tornadoes - Tetha's windball team. A favorite of Chief HippoGryphomon, and currently the winning champions and holder of the league trophy, a Digimental of Miracles.

Draco Island
Though it is far to the South and appears to be a part of Skuld, Draco Island is actually part of Urd. It's named for a legendary species of Small Dragon digimon, and this is the last part of the Digital World where that particular species lives. Its mostly unsettled, and while most of the Digimon living on it are intelligent, they're also battle eager and quick to pick a fight. Various varieties of Dragon and Dinosaur digimon make their home here.

Key Locations
Mount Fafnir - The seat of control for Draco Island's two Area Leaders, Slayerdramon and Breakdramon. A fiery though inactive volcano, many Dragon digimon call it their home. Most come here for training and to hone their skills in controlling the element of fire.
Paladin Point - Located to the east of Mount Fafnir. A legendary sword lies at rest here, and is the only surviving memory of a legendary hero. The sword is gigantic, and there is an inscription on a plaque here:

THIS LEGENDARY BLADE
CAN ONLY BE DRAWN BY THE HOLDERS OF
THE TAGS OF THE DRAGONS, THE BEASTS, THE MACHINES MACHINE,
THE DWELLERS OF THE JUNGLE,
THE BIRDS, THE HOLY ONES, THE DARK ONES,
AND THE DENIZENS OF THE SEA

Common Digimon - Dracomon, V-mon, Guilmon, Agumon, Coredramon, Monodramon, XV-mon, Growmon, Greymon, Airdramon, Strikedramon
Slayerdramon - One of Draco Island's Area Leaders. Among the two, he is the most strategically minded, and the greatest warrior.
Breakdramon - One of Draco Island's Area leaders. Unlike Strikedramon, he is quick to anger and somewhat destructive. However, he usually has his mind on justice.
HishaRyuumon - Slayerdramon's direct subordinate. He oversees the Airdramon Corps. He's very old, wise, and respected. With his Seiryuujin attack, he and Slayerdramon can combine their strength.
Paildramon - Breakdramon's subordinate and leader of the Strikedramon Corps. Paildramon is tactically minded, and sometimes worn out by his commander's personality.

Skuld
Skuld is commonly known as the “Continent of Darkness.” In the ancient history of the current digital world, it was very different. However, darkness has nearly overtaken it, mostly due to the chaos inflicted upon it by wars with the Dark Area. It is littered with ruins of the former civilization. The Dark Area has embraced the power of darkness fully, but even after all these years, the Graveyard and the Dead Zone continue to bare the scars of this conflict. Save for the Poyi Mountains, Skuld is mostly a perpetual wasteland.

Poyi Mountains
A remote but otherwise peaceful location on the Eastern edge of the Skuld Continent. It boasts the highest peaks in the Digital World, and the largest among them is Infinity Mountain. Many Wind Guardians and ancient species of digimon live here, but it also has a variety of species.. Though the Twelve Gods of Olympus live here, the Area Leader is actually Karatenmon.

Key Locations
Infinity Mountain - The largest mountain in the Digital World. The Twelve Gods of Olympus make their home here, and generally spurn approach by outsiders... except for when they hold their tournaments.
Tengu Canyon - Karatenmon's home. Much like Fafnir Mountain, Digimon come from all around to train here. However, Karatenmon teaches a very different form of fighting than the one taught by Slayerdramon and Breakdramon.

Noteworthy Digimon
Common Digimon - Hanumon, Slayerdramon, Golemon, Gotsumon, Shurimon
Twelve Gods of Olympus - Marsmon, Dianamon, Neptunmon, Apollomon, and Mercurimon. They live on Infinity Mountain, and though they boast some of the strongest power in the Digital World, they generally avoid all contact with the outside world. Though, that is beginning to change...
Karatenmon - The Area Leader for the Poyi Mountains. A wise and mysterious master of most martial arts and swordplay. He has the mysterious ability to see into the hearts of Digimon and Tamer alike without forcing their heart into turmoil. Though he is only a Perfect, he is very old... perhaps as old as the current Digital World itself.

Graveyard
Located on Skuld's northern shore. The Graveyard is a macabre expanse of desolate ruins, inhabited by all manner of Undead Digimon. This place was once the site of a great battle between the Virus Busters and the Dark Area. It is rumored that the many Undead digimon are the tortured, reborn forms of the Graveyard's original inhabitants. The Graveyard is seemingly cloaked in eternal night. Recently, it was absorbed into the Dark Area's territory.

Key Locations
The Caves - There is a large network of caves in the Graveyard. Many have been known to become lost and lose their minds within these labyrinthine tunnels. Recently, a digimon called Archnemon took over the Caves with the intention of using it as a home base to conquer the Digital World.
Black Pyramid - Pharaohmon's place of residence. His Undead servants all make their home here with him. It is said that Pharaohmon conducts experiments with the powers of Darkness here.
Deadlands - An erratic, chaotic field of incorrectly formed data. The entire place is prone to chaotic events, and suffers numerous plate shifts. Simply entering this location is dangerous, and can cause your data to be corrupted.

Noteworthy Digimon
Common Digimon - Bakemon, Soulmon
Pharaohmon - The Area Leader of the Graveyard. Some say that he participated in the war that tore apart Skuld. Others still say that he was once a member of the Dark Area. Some say he still is. Some of the other Area Leaders accuse him of being a coward and a tyrant, and he is known to protect his secrets with a large amount of zeal.
Mummymon - One of Pharaohmon's generals. He seems to show doubt about Pharaohmon's ideals, and knows many secrets about his superior. However, he remains loyal to him... for reasons that are unknown.
SkullGreymon - Pharaohmon's second general. Unlike Mummymon, he embraces Pharaohmon's ideals whole heartedly. If there are any doubts about Pharaohmon being a wicked tyrant, there is absolutely NO doubt about SkullGreymon. He is especially violent and cruel.

Dead Zone
The Dead Zone is on the West of Skuld. This area is cloaked in a perpetual fog, and continued exposure to it is toxic to Digimon and humans alike. However, its natural inhabitants have a bit of a tolerance to it. No plant life lives here, and the digimon get their food by stealing from other areas. What's more, any visitors to the Dead Zone are often seen AS potential food. Others still capture humans and Tamers as slaves. Almost all of this area's inhabitants have ties to the Nightmare Soldiers family.

The Dead Zone has been completely overtaken by the Dark Area. Its people were taken captive and removed, leaving the Dead Zone an empty wasteland.

Key Locations
Mordred - The castle belonging to Murmuxmon. He has a somber community of subordinates and vassals, and being here is described as depressing. As with the Black Pyramid, there are rumors of strange things going on here. What is true, however, that Mordred has a number of slaves captured by Murmuxmon and his minions.

Mordred is currently abandoned, however.

Noteworthy Digimon
Common Digimon - Impmon, Bakumon, PicoDevimon, PetitMamon, Devimon, Meramon, Boogeymon, Devidramon
Murmuxmon - The somber, eternally depressed Area Leader of the Dead Zone. There are just as many rumors about him as there are about Pharaohmon, but most of them are unsubstantiated. The strangest rumor is that he was once a Holy digimon... These rumors were proven when it was revealed that he was once Seraphimon, one of the Three Great Angels. Once he was deposed by the Dark Area, he disappeared.
SkullSatamon - Murmuxmon's second general. A somewhat comical and laid back warrior with a dark sense of humor. Nonetheless, he has a kind of honor that Phelesmon lacks, and is genuinely loyal to Murmuxmon. He has allied himself with DATS since the Dark Area took over.

Dark Area
The southernmost area of Skuld. The power of Darkness is tied into the very being of this area. Though it is not widely known, the Dark Area is actually an artifact of the original Digital World, and the Demon Kings used their power to preserve both it and themselves when the new Digital World was created. The group calling itself the Dark Area also uses this as a base of operations, and it aggressively recruits both Digimon and Tamers to its side. The Dark Area consists mostly of wasteland and large fortresses made to fuel the war effort. Aside from Tamers that are recruited, any digimon who is not a member of the Dark Area family or the Nightmare Soldiers family is killed on sight. The power of Darkness that is alive here is known to cause hallucinations.

Key Locations
Gate of Grave Sin - Located in the heart of the Dark Area. It can only be opened by the seven crests of the Demon Kings. What lies behind it is unknown, save for a single word... “OGUDO.” The Demon Kings have a fortress constructed around it.
Dark Capitol - Diablomon's capitol city. A highly industrialized and war-oriented place. Tamers who have come far in the Dark Area are forced to participate in gladiatorial matches for Diablomon's amusement.

Noteworthy Digimon
Common Digimon - Keramon, Impmon, PicoDevimon, Devimon, Devidramon, Chrysalimon, Infermon
Diablomon - The ruler of the Dark Area... though the real power is held by the Seven Demon Kings. He is cruel and unyielding, and believes that it is the destiny of Demon species digimon to rule the world. At one time, he had good intentions... wanting to improve the standing of digimon like himself. But years of conflict have taken away whatever decency he has left... or has it? If there is the potential for something good, it is at the bottom of his black heart. It is important that he has not yet progressed to Stage 2 with his Demon Seal.
Mephismon - The tactician of the Dark Area and Diablomon's second-in-command. It is rumored that he is descended from a very powerful demonic digimon. He is known for being very persuasive.
Dagomon - The dark priest of the Dark Area. Dagomon has great knowledge of the arcane and mystical, and knows more about the powers of darkness than anyone, save the Seven Demon Kings.
Phelesmon - Murmuxmon's former general. He is in charge of overseeing those enslaved by the army of Mordred. He is known for his cruelty. He betrayed the Dead Zone in exchange for power from the Dark Area.
The Seven Demon Kings - The Seven Demon Kings are the legendary dark ones, and seek to upset the balance of the Digital World and overflow it with darkness. They secretly control both the Dark Area and the Virus Busters.

Verdandi
The westernmost continent. There are very few uncivilized areas on this continent, and it has the largest number of advanced cities. The one location that could be considered mostly wilderness is the Putrid Ruins, but it has a society of its own all the same.

Junk City
Junk City is one half of a two-sided coin. It is actually the same area as Neon City, but the two of them exist in stark contrast and thus are given separate names. Junk City is the seedy underbelly, and is also highly industrialized. It provides fuel for all Digimon who swear loyalty to the “Metal Empire”, and is highly polluted. Hence the name. There is a large system of tunnels underneath the city, which are used by the numerous criminals as cover from the city's overzealous police system. Most of this city's inhabitants are Machine, Cyborg, and Unknown digimon, but it has a sizable population of Nightmare Soldiers as well.

Key Locations
Foundry Factory - The main production center for Junk City. Here, weapons are made, and Chrome Digizoid is fashioned into usable forms. The hours are long, and it is actually dangerous for any non-Machine to work here.
Tunnels - The tunnels under Junk City are vast. Some say that they reach across the entire underbelly of the continent. They are not as labyrinthine as the Caves of the Graveyard, but one can still become lost in them.

Notable Digimon
Common Digimon - Hagurumon, Kokuwamon, Guardromon, Tankmon, Mekanorimon, Andromon, Blimpmon, Commadramon
Chaosdramon - The Area Leader of both Junk City and Neon City. He's known for being aggressive and a hot head, and always makes his feelings known. What's more, he's willing to get his claws dirty, and turns a blind eye to the things that go on. Nevertheless, he's not an evil digimon.
Tankdramon - Chief of security for Junk City. Despite his obviously war-oriented alternate mode, he's very focused and collected, and not a “war hawk.” He acts as a balancing force for Chaosdramon's more extreme personality..
Valvemon - A massive perfect level digimon. Valvemon's personality is very robotic and unemotional. He acts as both a battle coordinator and a troop transport for Junk City's army.
Police Force - The police force is made up almost entirely of Guardromon. These Guardromon have simple programming, and are known for pursuing people for the slightest infractions.

Neon City
Neon City is the “other half” of Junk City, and it has all the glitz and glamor that Junk City lacks. One could almost compare it to the city of Las Vegas on earth. Aside from Tetha, it's the leading center of commerce in the Digital World. However, it does have a dark side to it as well, and the noted gangster Astamon is a well known figure here. In short, the crime of Junk City feeds the extravagant lifestyle of Neon City's most prolific citizens. Compared to Junk City, its population is more diverse.

Key Locations
Bright Casino - A well known casino located in the heart of town. It's run by Nanomon, one of Chaosdramon's subordinates. Both criminals, high rollers, and digimon that want to make a few Bits really easy frequent this place.
JCNC Tower - The central communications hub for Neon City. Nanomon and his underlings control the spread of information moving in and out of the city, as well as delegate any official decisions. In short, it's the center of government.
Server Stadium - A stadium that's a parallel to Tetha's Phoenix Colosseum. The city's windball team, the Neon Knights, play here. The digimon of Junk City also play another sport, Laser Hunting, here as well.

Notable Digimon
Nanomon - One of Chaosdramon's subordinates, though he is more a city official than a general. He's known for his greed and cowardice, and uses his position to attain prestige and wealth. He also holds a tight grip on the flow of information in Neon City. Among those who know what goes on in Neon City, he's not very popular.
Police Force - In contrast to Junk City, the police force of Neon City consists only of Commandramon. They are firmly under Nanomon's control, and often turn a blind eye to the actions of digimon like Astamon.
Astamon - The most powerful criminal in Neon and Junk City. He lives a life of luxury and is largely untouched by the law. However, there is an even more sinister side to Astamon, and he has ties to activities going on outside this area. In fact, he's the partner to a certain Tamer...

Putrid Ruins
A seemingly endless swamp, the Putrid Ruins include ancient structures that have long since begun to sink into the muck and mire. A number of Unknown digimon have made this their home, and the Putrid Ruins are known for their foul smell. The leader here is PlatinumNumemon, and like his territory, he is often passed over as a joke by the other leaders. However, PlatinumNumemon and the Putrid Ruins hold more promise than everyone believes. Most of the digimon who live here are Unknown digimon, which includes Mollusks and Mutants. However, there are also a number of Deep Saver, Nature Spirits, and Puppet digimon here as well.

Key Locations
Sunken Temple - Despite its name, this particular ruin is only half sunken into the swamp. Entering it can be hazardous, though, as all of the digimon who live here are capable of springing out of the swamp at any moment. PlatinumNumemon makes his home here.

Notable Digimon
Common Digimon - Numemon, Geremon, Sukamon, Chuumon, Omekamon, Otamamon, Gekomon, KaratsukiNumemon, BlackKingNumemon, MoriShellmon, Frogmon, TonosamaGekomon
PlatinumNumemon - The Area Leader for the Putrid Ruins. He is generally seen as a weakling by most of the Digital World, but his knowledge and skills are an enigma. Nevertheless, he makes a show of being ridiculous.

Sanctity
Also known as the “White City,” the city of Sanctity is part of the northern area of Verdandi. It consists of Holy Digimon, and they have cut off ties with the Virus Busters.

Many years ago, it was ruled over by the three great angels, Cherubimon, Ophanimon, and Cherubimon. However, a betrayal occurred, and the three digimon disappeared. It was this that led to the city cutting off ties with the Virus Busters. In addition, it is rumored that Murmuxmon was involved. However, it was eventually revealed that Murmuxmon WAS once Seraphimon, and what everyone thought to be true was a lie perpetrated by Goddramon and Holydramon. They were punished for their betrayal, and ClavisAngemon and Valkyrimon were installed in their place.

Most of the digimon here are of the Holy species, but it also includes a population of Wind Guardians and Metal Empire digimon.

Key Locations
White Tower - The home of Goddramon and Holydramon. From the top of this tower, they oversee the entire city, and can see any large scale attack approaching the city.

Notable Digimon
Common Digimon - Patamon, Cupimon, Puttomon, Puttimon, Piccolomon, Angemon, Pidmon
ClavisAngemon and Valkyrimon - The two Area Leaders of Sanctity, and formerly the Generals HolyAngemon and Angewomon.
Goddramon and Holydramon - Brother and sister digimon, who once served under Seraphimon, Ophanimon, and Cherubimon. They hold a grudge against the digimon of the Dead Zone as well as the Dark Area digimon. They are honorable to a fault, and had good relationships with the leaders of Tetha, Dokako Jungle, Draco Island, and D'Ango Forest. Recently, they were removed from power.

Hamburger Digimon Village
A very small location, it lies between the territory of Sanctity and the Putrid Ruins. It is populated entirely by Burgermon, and it is known for its excellent cuisine. Its specialty is the hamburger.

Asuka
An area consisting of a series of islands off the course of Verdandi. For a while, it has been embroiled in Civil War, and so contact with it has been cut off. With the Civil War at an end, it has reopened its communication with the rest of the Digital World.

The architecture and culture of this land has similarities to feudal Japan, though things are not exact. Before the civil war, Asuka was a chief source of exports to the rest of the Digital World. Culture in Asuka seems to revolve around Izumo Castle and the area around it, though there are numerous villages all over the area.

Key Locations

Izumo Castle - The castle from where Asuka's Area Leader rules his “country.” There is also a sizable city around the castle.
Tsukuyomi Village - A village in the mountains, populated by an elite group of ninja digimon. Its location is secret, but... it's also very hard to approach, for obvious reasons. There is a rumor that Karatenmon of the Poyi Mountains trained here.

Notable Digimon:

Common Digimon - Kotemon, Renamon, Gekomon, Kyuubimon, Yashamon, Musyamon, Kabukimon, Igamon, Kougamon, Shurimon
Susanoomon - The Area Leader of Asuka. An ancient digimon who is actually as old as the original Digital World. He was a contemporary of the Royal Knights, but his power has ebbed significantly in his long life.
TonosamaGekomon - Susanoomon's right hand man. Those who meet him are surprised to find out how competent and capable he is.
Orochimon - Susanoomon's nemesis, and the leader of the civil war against him. He escaped punishment at the war's end and is determined to gain revenge.
Frogmon - The leader of the ninjas in Tsukuyomi Village. Many are surprised to learn his real identity. Many more are surprised to learn what a huge pervert he is.

Albion

The fabled land which disappeared centuries ago, the land of Albion reappeared on Verdandi Continent in the middle of an intense - but somehow strangely harmless - upheaval in modern times. Now situated between the territory of Sanctity and the Putrid Ruins, Albion resembles a medieval kingdom. Long ago, before it disappeared, Albion was the seat of power for the Royal Knights, and is now ruled over by the reborn Dukemon X-Antibody.

The subjects who live here seem to have been willingly waiting in some sort of stasis for one of the Royal Knights to return. Omegamon, however, is no longer recognized as one of them. Because they are actually from a time long ago, they are not very up to date on modern events.

There is a Lightpost that allows one to enter Witchelny can be found here, but it is guarded by Crossmon. Aside from the Castle of the 13 Warriors, most locations here include villages, ruins, and minor castles.

Key Locations:

Castle of the 13 Warriors - The castle from which the Royal Knights once held court. Now, only Dukemon lives here. Access to this castle and the are around it is permitted, but those who attempt to enter the inner sanctum are punished severely. Its courtyard is decorated with statues of the Royal Knights, and for some reason, Omegamon's has yet to be removed.

Notable Digimon:
Common Digimon - Gladimon, Nohemon, Knightmon
Dukemon X - The recently reborn Royal Knight, and the recognized Area Leader of the reappeared Albion. He lives by a code of chivalry and is prepared to restore the legacy of the Royal Knights.
Rapidmon - A golden Rapidmon, and Dukemon's only Area General. Leads an elite squad of Rapidmon “Air Knights”, and has a similar code of chivalry to his master. For some reason he wears a cape.
Crossmon - The guardian of the lightpost that leads to Witchelny. Not much is known about him.

Other Locations
The following locations are not part of the Urd, Skuld, or Verdandi continents. They are all separate and distinct locations, and are thus self contained.

Virus Busters
This large island between Meria and the Urd continent shares its name with the army that controls it. The Virus Busters territory is an almost direct inverse of the Dark Area, and the two armies share an intense hatred for one another. The Virus Busters are no less war-like, but they claim to uphold ideals of honor and justice. However, their idea of justice is very rigid, and they have a “you're with us or against us” mentality.

Key Locations
Omega Point - The main stronghold for the Virus Busters. It is almost impossible to break into, and those who are caught are severely punished. Omegamon resides here.

Notable Digimon
Common Digimon - Sagitarrimon, Gladimon, Knightmon
Omegamon - The leader of the Virus Busters, and Diablomon's rival. He has a hatred for all Demon digimon, and will stop at nothing to eliminate them. It is said that he was once part of a group known as the Royal Knights, and that they were devastated in battle with the Dark Area. For some reason, he bears a Demon Seal... but whether he had it forced upon him or if he made a deal with the very devils he sought to eliminate is unknown.
Mystimon - One of Omegamon's generals. However, there's a rumor that his true loyalties lie with another area leader.
Grademon - Another one of Omegamon's generals. Omegamon is oddly protective of him for some reason, and his superior always talks about him having a great destiny. Nevertheless, Grademon remains ignorant of Omegamon's true nature.

The Chess Kingdom
Located on the same island as the Virus Busters, but possessing their own territory. They largely get along with the Virus Busters, but are not their allies or part of their forces. Its just basic co-existance. The territory consists of a large field set up like a massive chessboard, with daily patrols, and a castle from where KingChessmon and BlackChessmon rule. International relationships with this country are strained, as no one here can actually talk... with the exception of the rare PawnChessmon that can.

Key Locations:
Chess Castle: The capital of the Chess Kingdom. KingChessmon and QueenChessmon rule here, but force any visitors to undergo a complex series of actions to even reach them.

Notable Digimon:
Common Digimon: PawnChessmon White, PawnChessmon Black, KnightChessmon White, KnightChessmon Black, Rook Chessmon Black, Rook Chessmon White, BishopChessmon White, Bishop Chessmon Black
KingChessmon and QueenChessmon: The rulers of the Chess Kingdom. Despite their land's obvious lack of oral tradition, the story goes that their wedding put an end to the wars between the Black Army and the White Army, which is why the two colors of PawnChessmon live in peace.

Meria
Located on a landmass that is farthest North. Meria is covered by tundra, and is covered in ice all year round. Most digimon that survive here are adapted to cold weather, and that includes all kinds of Deep Savers and Nature Spirits. Meria is also the name of the main settlement, which is a large city carved almost entirely out of ice. Despite how primitive it appears, life here is surprisingly comfortable... if you're willing to endure the year-long cold. In the wilderness outside the city, wild Mammon roam, and wandering bands of marauding Hyougamon and SnowGoblimon pose a danger to travelers.

Notable Digimon
Common Digimon - Icemon, YukiAgumon, Penmon, Yukidarumon, Hyougamon, SnowGoblimon, Mammon, Mojamon
DaiPenmon - The Area Leader of Meria. Though many make fun of his appearance, they quickly find that he is rather skilled. Nevertheless, he is very easy-going, and every year in December, he delivers gifts to all the young digimon of Meria.

Axoryi
In the northern Net Ocean lies Axoryi. Small in comparison to Meria, but it is comparable to Tetha. Axoryi floats above the surface of the water, but is nonetheless very stable and prosperous. Like Junk/Neon City, it is divided... one half of the city is a gleaming, Atlantis-like city with open waterways instead of streets, and the other is like a colonial port town. Neither part of the city is more well off than the other, however, though you get a lot more unsavory digimon down at the docks. Most of the population here is aquatic digimon, though it has a number of immigrants that are other species.

Key Locations
Tanngrisnir - Unlike the other Area Leaders, the area leader Vikemon does not have a base that he rules from. Instead, Vikemon has his warship, the Tanngrisnir, which is the largest and most powerful in the Digital World. Though it has powerful cannons, its most powerful weapon is perhaps Vikemon himself.

Notable Digimon
Common Digimon - Ikkakumon, Seadramon, Hookmon, Gomamon, Swimmon
Vikemon - The Area Leader of Axoryi. A wild, adventurous sort, he was a pirate before he was elected the Area Leader for Axoryi. Now... he actually still is a pirate, but he is still respected across the Digital World. He never cripples an enemy ship completely, and will always use his resources to help if the Digital World is in a crisis. Oddly enough, he and SaberLeomon are great friends.
Zudomon - Vikemon's second in command, and second to him in power. Zudomon loves a good fight, and often leads a raid on his own.
Hangyomon - Another one of Vikemon's subordinates. He leads the Rukamon Strike Force, and specializes in crippling strikes from beneath the waves. He and Zudomon often quarrel.

Carnival Island
A newly appeared area, whose origins are shrouded in mystery. It is a floating island like Tetha, but it is not a city. Rather, it is a gigantic amusement park, complete with all manner of rides and spectacles, including fun houses, halls of mirrors, and other things. It also has a massive hover-kart track.

Key Locations
The Screaming Aquilamon - A gigantic roller coaster, modeled after one of the majestic bird digimon populating the Digital World.
Twinkle Track - The hover kart racing track. The only prizes for winning are carnival favors, though.
Carnival Stadium - A massive stadium in the center of Carnival Island. Many events go on here, including circus performances and idol concerts.

Notable Digimon: Impmon, Opossumon, Puttimon
Piemon: The Area Leader of Carnival Island. Though he's a glorified showman (on the surface), he's seen in equal standing to the other Area Leaders. He's a bit creepy, but wants his customers to have a good time...

Trailmon Network
A hidden, underground and underwater network that allows travel throughout the Digital World. If you don't want to use the lightpost network, this is for you. The Trailmon Network exists completely underground, except for the massive and extensive tunnels beneath the surface of the Net Ocean. All Trailmon passageways lead to Central Station, but its actual location is unknown. Typical rides on the Trailmon Network costs 200 BITS. Stations are found all over the Digital World, and have elevators leading underground.

Key Locations:
Central Station: The hub of the Trailmon Network, which is where all Trailmon go back to report in and fuel up. Everyone riding on a Trailmon passes through here at least once.
Dark Network: The portion of the Trailmon Network running underneath Skuld. You need to buy a Hell Ticket to ride here, which costs 500 BITS. Only Dark Trailmon ride these rails.
Terminal Network: The portion of the Network running under Terminal. It is currently the only way to get past the Holy Beasts' shield, but no one really has any idea how to actually convince a Trailmon to ride these rails.

Notable Digimon:
GrandLocomon: The leader and overseer of the digimon on the Trailmon Network. He's schedual and rule obsessed, and a bit of a hard liner.
Locomon: Faster and more efficient than riding on a Trailmon. Rides on a Locomon's train are more costly, and have more luxuries.
Trailmon (all varieties): Trailmon are the bulk of the workforce in the Trailmon Network. There's a lot of different kinds, and the cheapest of all customers end up riding on Trailmon Ball instead of one that actually ends up pulling a train. The varieties are: Worm, Mole, Franken, Buffalo, Raccoon Dog, Angler, Dark, and Ball. There is also rumors of a new kind of battle Trailmon...
Hagurumon: The digimon who serve as engineers, maintenance officers, ticket takers, and... grunts of the Trailmon Network.

Terminal - The Golden Continent
Terminal is the fourth continent, and lies in the center of the Digital World. Much of Terminal is a mystery, and that is due to the barrier that surrounds it. At several points on the East, South, North and West of the continent lie the four gates: Seiryuu Gate, Suzaku Gate, Genbu Gate, and Byakko Gate. This projects a barrier that covers all of Terminal, and protects it from attack. At the center of the continent is the World Tree, where Yggdrasil resides. The four gates are protected by Qinglongmon, Zhuqiaomon, Xuanwumon, and Baihumon, and the World Tree is watched over by Huanlongmon.

Notable Digimon
The Holy Beasts - The Holy Beasts are the servants of Yggdrasil. Qinglongmon, Zhuqiaomon, Xuanwumon, and Baihumon project the barrier that protects the continent, and Huanlongmon protects Yggdrasil himself. These five are some of the most powerful digimon in the Digital World.
The Twelve Devas - The twelve Devas serve four of the Holy Beasts. Mihiramon, Antiramon, and Majiramon serve Qinglongmon, Indramon, Pajiramon, and Sandiramon serve Zhuqiaomon, Vajiramon, Kunbiramon, and Vikararamon serve Xuanwumon, and Makuramon, Sinduramon, and Chatsuramon serve Baihumon. If one of the Holy Beasts should ever have to leave their post, three of them together are capable of projecting their part of the barrier in their stead.

Miscellaneous Locations
Witchelny - Home to the code and spell masters of the Digital World. All information that enters the Digital World is recorded here, making the digimon of Witchelny both respected and
feared. Other than that, not much is known about it. You can only reach it by using a special light post. Its Area Leader is MedievalDukemon. The lightpost that leads to Witchelny is found in Albion, but it is guarded by a digimon called Crossmon.
Primary Villages - There are numerous Primary Villages in the Digital World. Whenever a digimon possessing a particular Digimemory/D.N.A. type dies, they go to the Primary Village of an area associated with that D.N.A. type. The locations are as follows:
Holy - Sanctity
Demon - Graveyard
Dragon - Draco Island
Beast - D'Ango Forest
Plant/Insect - Dokako Jungle
Machine - Junk/Neon City
Mutant - Putrid Ruins
Bird - Tetha
Aquatic - Axoryi, Meria
Anti-Human Villages - In D'Ango Forest, Dokako Jungle, Putrid Ruins, and the area outside the city of Meria, you will run into the odd group of digimon that spurn all contact with human
beings. They hate humans, especially Tamers, and will not hesitate to attack them.
??? - Recently, knowledge of a group of humans that seemingly have no digimon partners has been discovered. They are the inverse of the Anti-Human Villages, in that they hate and fear
all digimon. Presumably, they are all Tamers that have abandoned their digimon. Their leader is an offworlder named Akihiro Kurata.

BITS - Though not a location, the currency of the Digital World is called Bits. They resemble computer chips, and are of varying size and color depending on their monetary value.
