Obama Urged to Rally Support for War

Wasn't he supposed to be the anti-war candidate?

No, he wasn't... not unless you follow the tradition established by the previous administration and conflate Iraq with Afghanistan. As far as I can remember, Obama always talked about Afghanistan as a necessary war that needed to be won. It was the single detail in his Berlin speech that most pissed off the German listeners.

she sort of remembers that this speech was quite heavy on the anti-communism (almost comically so) - funny, how people tend to forget.
