this really shouldn't bother me, but it does, especially when i suspect the person giving me 'advice' is someone who didn't breastfeed

the fda website says that it's best for your baby, eventhough a lot of other sources tell you it doesn't matter what you choose. my mom didn't breastfeed any of my brothers but she breastfed me. i even took classes via the health department to try to prepare myself but it was so hard in the beginning! and usually babies will lose some of their birthweight before coming home from the hospital--sylvia just lost a couple ounces extra and gained really slow the first 2 weeks(5 oz.) the 3rd week she gained 12 1/2 oz.! now we're both better at eating/feeding but i'm still super neurotic about her weight gain.

I thought babies kind of lose weight for the 1st week or 2.
