Korean culture
The Korean culture is very different compared to the culture here in the US. There are many differences such as your behavior towards certain people, the way you’re treated at school, how you go to school, and other things.
In Korea, you have to pay for your schooling; if you have no money, then your child will not be able to be sent to school, and instead, will stay at home. (Unless you live in the countryside-then you’d be helping around the farm or working.) Also, hitting your child is legal. (just as long as you don’t abuse them.) So when children tend to misbehave at school, then they will most likely get hit by their teachers.
Social order is a very important thing in Korea. If you don’t respect your elders, you will be looked down upon. Respecting your elders is basically the basis of the whole culture system. It applies to the simplest things--who should greet whom first, who should sit where, who should sit down first, who should eat first.
