David told me that if I got DSL for my new apartment - he'd pay for it.

I'm vacillating, however. Would be nice to have higher speeds, and it would be nice to have him at the apartment more often, but it sure would suck having to fight with the damned computer for his attention!

Get it, but have "outages" when he is visiting. That way you get to play with fast internet when he isn't there, but no competition. :)

I wouldn't care if I had to crawl butt-naked over hot coals.. if it was to get high-speed internet vis-a-vis dial-up, I'm SO there!

But knowing the situation like i do, you would probably get mad as hell if he came over and basically spent almost the entire time online and sleeping.
Plus, arent there other things he should be tossing the $$$ to, like, maybe for an apartment of his own? I don't know. I'm all for high speed, but in this case, it may cause more headaches.

Oh, Tom, that doesn't sound like the "voice of reason" at all; it sounds more like the voice of "let me put some paranoia into you". LOL For the simple fact that if I truly believed that he comes over for the SOLE purpose of broadband (and not quality time with me), then there's something seriously wrong with our relationship and I wouldn't have even posted about it.

As it is, I highly doubt that an extra $30.00 a month would be taking away the prospect of his own apartment...something he's not ready to do as of yet anyway. I thought it was a sweet gesture - his offering to pay - in any case.

My post about his offer was tongue-in-cheek and meant to be chucklesome.
