I am from London. I do runs that start in places like Trafalgar Square and take you across smooth, wide roads with not so much as a pothole in your way. If I am feeling a bit reckless, I might go for a bit of “trail running” somewhere like Richmond Park, where you occasionally tread in a puddle, or spend two minutes running uphill. Please do not tar all Northerners with the same brush - the pies sound like the only good bit of that whole experience!

You're from Leeds? Leeds is like a northern version of London, it's quite civilised. I like that pub that is on a barge in the middle of a roundabout.

Were any of the pies the best pies? Were they all provided by the same source, or a variety of different bakers?

I think they had a Pie Contract. There were too many pork pies and not enough fruit pies. I could have done with a mince pie to finish off with but it was too late. The steak and kidney affair was my favourite.
