KILLERPILZE NEWSLETTER #1 2012
I know, I know, I know: I'm way behind on loads of things. But I thought this was a little more important than Jo's blogs and any other things I might work on, so when I saw it, I translated it, and here it is for you now:
Hello you lovely gang, audience, fans, friends, dear KP-Family,
Firstly we apologize for our current negligence in regards to our blog (www.jubelundstaub.de) and our Internet activities (www.facebook.com / killerpilze), but things are simmering beneath the surface, while everything seems calm when seen through the naked eye.
There’s busy activity in the Killerpilze office, in a small filthy rehearsal room and in various home studios, which consist of just a laptop and a guitar to write demos that inspire us all very much. For several months, we’ve played punk rock guitars like three people out of their minds, pressed on buttons, mistreated keys, tried crazy drum rhythms and created songs that we…now really…don’t want to call less than magnificent.
Since the album production takes our entire focus and energy, we have decided this year to appear a little less, both in actual concerts and in general. Which means: We’re going to let our hair and beards grow long, and we’re not going to wash anymore. Then after that we’ll appear back on the scene with a huge BAMMMM and make waves.
Until then we will resolve a few selected major festivals in the country and surrounding areas and anyone who comes can look forward to an enthusiastic band. We’re excited!
Last but not least, we, of course, do not want our 10 year band anniversary to simply pass by. Apart from the fact that above all we will use this year to make a very straight ([I have no idea whether he means something else; this was Denglish]) and- let us please reach so high- world-changing record, we will play in the fall again a teensy concert tour through a few cities of the world. More on that very soon… (A little tip: We’re already going to be in Berlin and Hamburg in the summer… öchöchöch!)
So you see: the temporary absence is only meant to give you time to breathe before a storm of bitter sweet euphoria, sexiness, and a new era breaks loose.
Trust us! We do it well.
