Did you get a place that's bigger and/or nicer than the place you were renting? Was your landlord annoying? These are things that matter, too. That and you can do whatever you want to it. ;-)

Oh, and the home-buyer's incentive barely worked out to anything for us, at least on the scale of the money we spent. We thought that 8k came off the tax we paid, not the income we earned. Grrr....

It DOES come off the tax you paid... or rather, offsets said tax. So says the girl who processed it for at least 5 people this spring... and who called and double-checked with the IRS last week that her own $8K check will be mailed out by the end of the month.

It's all about having a huge debt hanging over your head!

Although you do need to factor in the joy of being able to own a dog. Or multiple dogs. And multiple cats!
