when we bought our house, almost 20 years ago, my dad, being a good home inspector, tested it for Radon-a cancer causing element that houses that have a love of underground space are vulnerable to. The test came back as a 4, meaning that is was borderline dangerous. My dad had them come in and fix it. He tested it a few more times and it came up as ( Read more... )

Hey, I'm looking for a roommate if you're interested. I got a newly finished basement bedroom. And, starting ASAP, I'm starting a pet sitting business from home, so there'd be plenty of aminals around.

And i'm jealous about the pet sitting...

whoa! I wonder what changed to make it rise like that?
We just had our house "de-radonized" They installed this tube that sucks it up out of the soil and shoots it thru the roof. We had the basement tested a while back, and my parents *finally* got the guys to come in and do it.

yeah, I think they did something similar to our house. Hopefully it'll be fixed by Christmas.
