I just paid my ticket. $193.00 to the order of the Wharton Boro Municipal Court. I hate New Jersey. Four points. My insurance is already $246 monthly and when they find out about this ticket...it could've been worse, though. I was going 90 in a 65 and the cop was nice enough to write down 84.

Happy birthday to gervasiusI took my dachshund to the vet today ( Read more... )

$246?! Jesus. I feel for ya. My monthly premium is just as preposterous - $237! Hopefully that'll go down now that I'm...25. :)

Speaking of which, thanks again for the birthday greetings! :)

I can't remember exactly - I had been in staying in NYC and had to head south to central jersey (trenton area, east windsor) to pick up some stuff I'd left at a friend's parents' house. After that, I got back on the highway and headed for Rochester. The ticket said Wharton.

So far, I haven't heard a peep from my innsurance company - after six months of no word, I think I'll be in the clear.

owwwww - i hate speeding tickets.

my dog's a welsh corgi/something else mix, perhaps a bit bigger than your daschund but not by that much but he has the same attitude. i took him to the dog park once, which borders a horse stable, and this genius person was walking their miniature horse (not a pony) and before i could stop him, my dog took off like an arrow for the horse and chased the frightened thing into circles for about five minutes before i finally got him to come back.

Hehe, it is actually very common for little dogs to be aggressive in that way.

It is the same for humans. It actually has a name!

"Little man complex." They speak louder, are insecure, act more rigorous and are usually demanding of attention.

My dog is medium sized, she abhors little dogs because of their constant yapping! But the larger dogs, she always tries to impress them.

Very interesting piece of conversation, I enjoyed it

Yeah, I get where you're coming from, but my dachshund is a total wussy. The dog we had before we got him was alpha and totally dominated the little weiner. He's the most passive dog I've ever met. He's good at recall, so we rarely leash him, but he knows his way around the neighborhood - sometimes he'll follow whoever's walking to the community mailbox to collect our mail.
Once, a neighbor brought out her terriers to take 'em for a walk. Mike spotted them coming around the corner, turned around and took off for home with his tail tucked between his legs.
This dog also refuses to leave the security of the garage when the neighbor across the street's harley is parked on his driveway. parked, mind you - the dog is terrified of parked motorcycles.
