I think facebook is a means of communal mourning than anything else. Sure they won't read it (though they may theoretically experience it, but no telling. depends on your eschatology I suppose), but... it's cathartic. It's a means of connecting with the past, and feeling a connection with those you care about. I don't think it's weird to think that

From what I have seen Facebook can and will remove the accounts and all record of deceased persons....It's sad, when the person is someone with whom you have a deep profound connection
