4C - alcohol helps, but only if you play it right. You want to have had little enough that you're in full control of yourself, but just enough that later you can say "Wow, I said that when I was drunk? Sorry for making an ass of myself." Even if that's BS, and the friend knows it's BS, it's a handy little lie that can save everything (yes, that's from experience, doing it both drinking and not).
