After listening to the undoubtedly-sage wisdom of sparklypoof, I tried a new running thing today. I went walking briskly, got about fifteen-ish minutes away from the house, and ran back in intervals. Thirty seconds running, forty-five walking at a more gentle pace. Repeated that... a good number of times. Seven, maybe? Eight? I don't remember exactly ( Read more... )

if you haven't already seen this, go here for a more structured (yet flexible) program. I've been wanting to try it, but I have knee issues. plus it's cold as fuck here. if you've seen it before, just ignore me :)

in general, from my research, doing sprint/run stuff is supposed to be better in a health sense and getting adjusted to running up there; lotsa hard core people do it
