I dunno that it's all pity-based. Everybody is ignorant about things until they learn. Where they go from there is usually what makes the difference.
Also, how you been? LJ is mostly dead for everyone these days.

I'm tired of doing and seeing "Trans 101" stuff. I see why it's good and necessary, but that doesn't stop it from being tired, boring, and annoying at times to my eyes.
And I'm mostly good. You coming to the Kotei down here in Northern Virginia? Because if you are, could you bring a deck for me? I live ten minutes away from the store and would love to play.

so this was promised as 'not just another trans101 discussion' but it turned out to be. i'm not sure WHAT to expect from trans panels that claim to be 'beyond trans 101' but are for the general 'health practitioner' public. i felt like it was a waste of my time, and the questions (while written in the spirit of moving beyond trans 101 stuff) were answered in very vague terms...the things that seemed to be most important were that 1. a lot of people came to learn. 2. mostly what we learned was that these people are PEOPLE first, trans second. not ALL of their issues are going to be around trans stuff...
i dunno..i'm so over trans 101 stuff...
