i am not understanding this quote completely, what are we singing at church that is not true, that we love God?

If you listen to the talk, its explained, but I'll summarize here:

Things like,
"I surrender all,
All to you I give, God."

But what they are actually saying is:
"Except my summers, and my wordly attachments, and my plans for my own life. But everything else... I give to You."

yeah i agree. sometimes if i'm really not feeling right with God, i won't sing stuff like that, instead of singing it and later feeling like a hypocrite. It usually helps too, cuz then i feel bad about it and have to get my life straight with God.

I defintely do the same thing. It's so irreverent to sing worship songs while your heart is in the wrong spot.
