I'm with you on not wanting to be sprayed down with cold water. I respond so badly to being cold that for me this would probably go beyond being unpleasant and into the realm of being potentially dangerous pretty quickly. Other than that, it sounds like a ton of fun.
The concept of the freezing water is to clean off the mud? Why wouldn't you just want to run muddy? That seems more in the spirit of the thing to me, and would make for better pictures.
I need to do one of these sometime! For me, the objective would be for the obstacles to be difficult given how fast I'd been running, and for it to be hard to pick my pace back up after crossing one.
Yeah, I've definitely noticed in almost all such obstacle courses I've run or considered that getting the contestants muddy seems to be priority, because it makes for much better advertising photos. I want to DO stuff, not jsut get dirty.
Oh! And the trick I learned to getting under low hanging wires or similar is -- if you have enough sideways room, lie straight out and ROLL sideways, instead of trying to bellyflop or crawl. :)
Aha! I went to the parkour class yesterday, and I was wondering why you weren't there, given that I heard about it last post and all...
Going next week?
And yes, I had exactly that issue with the zombie run we did in the spring. I made it 99% of the way mostly clean, to have it end with the grand-daddy of all slip & slides into a mud-puddle.
hm, actually not going this sunday due to a conflict i hadn't realized. i do expect us to get back to it, though! (and, the friday class continues fun.)
