What is truly cool is that you got it back without having to bring in violence. Heck, just that she stuck around long enough for you to realize it was gone is way cool.
And, regardless of the value of the stuff in the backpack, it's yours. It's a territorial thing. Glad that ended up well. And it helps to keep you more aware of your stuff in there in the future. It turned out to be an inexpensive lesson. *smooches*

One trick I learnt in Sydney is when you put your bag down stand in the loop of the shoulder strap. It means you are more likey to notice when someone is trying to steal it. Plus if someone is trying to steal it, just raise your knee.......
