*gags*

No comment on *that* script.

Half of the schools here don't even offer German as a language; it's mainly French/Jap/Spanish...we do have Germaan *here* but I don't have enough options as I'm already taken too much with corres.

I fixed up the typos & made the tenses prettier later that night. I didn't want the group to get a bad grade because of me. They should dig their own hole with bad pronunciation and acting.

It's abnormal around here to even take foreign language, let alone two like I am... or compared to the school system of every other part of the world. The US school system does not understand that we are *globalizing*. *kicks*

Well, US school system. School systems in general...not many people take foreign langauges- it's rare to take two here, as well, I guess but it's common to take French. When will the world catch on that we need to be learning PROPER CHINESE NOT THE SIMPLIFIED VERSION MERCI BEAUCOUP you know, at least some of the schools in the States are offering Chinese...no? *shrug*

My two foreign language teachers (French & German) are always emphasizing to us how it's normal for European children to learn three or four languages. And my rl friend in Frence (exchange student) right now is taking English (hah), French, German, Latin *and* Spanish. Which is... nuts, to me. I manage French & German well enough, but that many would just make my mind implode. (Though she's doing well enough... somehow.) But- *hmm* *thinks*

Maybe some of the really large schools (though none of the big ones here in W-MI, I know that for sure) - or maybe some of the west-coast schools where there's more of that culture permeating and suchness. Unis all seem to offer it, though. I almost convinced myself to take it when I get to uni-proper, but then I remembered Italian *huggles*)

I think I should have tied in the music teacher and the time gate somehow, in retrospect.

Don't know any German. :P

Languages, languages... being in Canada, French is offered all the time. Mandatory in first year high school in Ontario.

Most common third language is Spanish. Two schools here offer Latin. My school used to offer German, but not enough students signed up so it got cut.

Our German dep. just started two years ago. It's doing fairly well. They think that next year they'll be able to split the level three/fours up (which had combined classes until then.) And our school offers this one-semester introductory to Russian course every other year...

...but considering our school teaches no world history, literature or culture outside of the western world, I think we're a *long* ways from Chinese. (Though I'd love to learn. It's so *different*. Western languages are starting to get boring.)

Please make sure you learn the *proper* version, not the trash easy-fied Chinese script China is dishing out at the world. You'll be *seriously* disadvantaged. Don't learn it. Waste of time. Learn the PROPER VERSION!!! *waves banner*
