Cats of the Month

No more slacking on my Cat of the _____ posts! Since it's been so long since I last posted a fabulous cat, I'll give you four.

Mischa is about four years old and is a very sweet girl. She's a bit of a fattie (short legs, big ROUND body!), and is incredibly sweet and cute. She's content to just sit on your lap for lots of snuggles. Mischa would do best as the only cat in her new home.

Amy is a fantastic girl! She's sweet and calm, and does extremely well with children. (We had one little boy who fell in love with her, and Amy loved him right back; she was very gentle and patient with him. Then he saw a kitten. Damn kittens.) At just a little over a year old, Amy has had quite a life. As I was snuggling with her one afternoon, I felt a bump on her back. Terrified that it was cancer, we noted the bump on the vet log. Turns out some bastard had shot this sweet, sweet girl with a pellet gun, and she had a pellet lodged in her back. (If I ever get my hands on that jerk...) And even though humans have been cruel to this darling girl, she is incredibly trusting.

Her coat is silky smooth and on the shorter end of medium length. Her picture makes her look quite orange, but her orange is rather muted. In person, she's colored more like a creamsicle, and with a personality just as sweet!

Don't be fooled by the description of Raegan on the PAWS page. Raegan is NOT a girl. That's what the information sheet says, but trust me, it's a boy. I was snuggling with the cute little 4-month-old tyke on Saturday when he rolled over for belly rubs. I obliged him, and then my hand went across two furry little lumps. Uhh..what? Girls don't have balls! Made a note, so hopefully, the vet will not open him up for a spay surgery! (How they even missed his manly bits in the first place, I have no idea. It's not like they were tiny or hard to see.)

But besides his obvious maleness, Raegan is insanely cute (he's kind of girly looking, I guess). He loves to snuggle up on big piles of blankies, and doesn't mind when you put another one over him. He just loves to snuggle in for a good nap. He came in as a stray, so he's still a bit leary of humans. But after a few quick pets, he'll start purring up a storm and burrowing himself deeper into you for better snuggling.

Barb is such a darling! This sweet little girl is about 4 months old and drools like a happy dog. After just 5 seconds of chin scratches, my hand was soaked. She rolled over on my lap, and my pant leg was soaked. Besides being a darling drooler, Barb is very affectionate and cautiously curious. She's also quick to purr and loves attention. She'll make a great pet for someone who will love her to pieces.
