I wish I could take another cat but there are a few reasons I can't.
Ash and Otis would gang up on him and make his life miserable at this house. Matt wouldn't be happy with another cat. Ash has crystals in his urine and is on a prescription diet pretty much for his whole life and we really wouldn't be able to afford to take care of another cat with the same problem (the prescription food costs add up pretty quick, especially when the vet recommends the canned food. They are about $1-1.25 a can).
I buy premium canned food at the pet supply store, so when I see $1-$1.25 a can, I'm like, "Oh, that's about normal for healthy food!" (My fatties don't get to eat anything from the regular pet supply stores after that crazy pet food recall last year, only the premium stuff from the higher end stores. Meanwhile, I eat the unhealthy, cheaper human stuff :) )
But I don't know that Bob would let Otis and Ash gang up on him. He's a pretty chill guy, but when he saw other cats, he'd puff up and start hissing at them. Haha! And he's so big he'd have no problem fending for himself. But I do think he may be happiest as the only kitty.
Anyway, if you know of anyone thinking about getting a cat, please let them know about Bob!
i keep telling scott we need a farm so we can take in more animals that just need a little extra love and attention :( god i just feel awful for these poor guys..
if its anything, maya is awesome and happy as can be. shes currently asleep upside down in her tube with our puppy passed out nearby her. they actually get along fairly well and like to play a lot :)
I've always felt like Maya was my own since I met her a year ago, so it delights me to no end to know that she is happy in a loving forever home now, even if it can't be mine :) Her story gives me hope, and I know that it never hurts to at least try to find a home for needy kitties.
Seriously, though, I am really surprised she likes to play with the pup! I was really worried that she'd be miserable with one after reading what the last family had to say. (Makes me wonder about those people.)
