We did go to the pet adoption event like I'd planned and we brought home two dogs, two little chihuahuas. They were the first dogs we saw there, but I wanted to look at more than that before we made a decision - we ended up walking around the whole place, seeing all the dogs, and meeting a couple first hand, before finally coming back to those two ( Read more... )

The only chihuahua I knew was named Winston, and he was spectacular. Glued himself to his mistress' side, but until she got home from work he played well with the DnD group that came over...Didn't bark unless you picked him up wrong...was a marvelous playmate to any dog that came over for a playdate. Leashes were Kryptonite to him, though--apparently if one was put on him, he'd scream until it was removed. So he was never walked!

He's probably still alive, mind, but I haven't seen him in over a year, so.

Anyway. I have a favorable opinion of well-raised chihuahuas, and these two sound great. You keeping "ebb" and "flow" as names? I'd love to see pics of them--and of Strider, who sounds like he was also fantastic.

I'm so sorry that Strider's time was up :(. I think it's really great when people who can give a quality home to animals in need offer to do so, especially after loss. There's so many bad owners that i hope the ones who know what they're doing can offer their services!

The pair sound like a whole lot of fun, I hope they start getting along with the cats lol.

I am so happy you have found the "wondertwin" chihuahuas, your descriptions of them are wonderful! Having dog companions will help you heal, I can't wait to hear more about them. =)
