Oh my. Now, I don't really think this happened for a moment, but while I was reading the fic it seemed terribly believable. I love your Tom - he's very well painted, but your Merope is great. Nice to see her speaking up for herself for once.

Oh! Oh, poor Merope. And yes, I can picture Tom choosing Merope just because he thought of her as someone who was inferior and who would therefore remain dependent on him--and therefore never leave. Poor girl. She just never caught a break, did she?
