Another annoying week

Apr 21, 2010 20:51

So enter into yet another annoying week. First, I have been STARVING since Sunday. I am not exaggerating. The first day didn't strike me as odd since we went hiking and climbed the tower at Forest Glen. It was a bit of a strenuous activity and so being hungry the next day would make sense. But no, it did not end with Sunday. I was starving ( Read more... )

I am sorry that your meeting tonight went badly. I know this does not make several people happy.

I don't know what to say about the hunger; you pay more attention to your own body than anyone else does, so you would be the one to observe the symptoms.

Very true. After the tumor incident I learned to pay more attention to my body.

Hopefully the ravenousness ends soon. I know how that sucks, and how hard it can be to get back on track after such a thing.
I am also sorry about the meeting. You will find something, this is just a minor set back, not the end of the line.
And no, no shooting, bad Joyce. :-p

Aw ok. I won't shoot myself. Besides, I prefer less messy ways of committing suicide. As for the ravenousness, it has seemed to stop. So basically I am back where I started, but I am trying to eat a little bit healthier. And after reading a new study, I'm determined to cut more pop out of my diet. Apparently 16 oz or more of even diet pop can cause liver problems and I drink WAY more than that.

The first alternate plan I see for land usage would be if you could build on the southern part of the vacant lot at 1411 Interstate Drive. Since you were looking for only half an acre, you'd only want a piece of that lot, leaving the Interstate Drive frontage. You'd have to configure some kind of pedestrian access off the west end of Fairfax, and I don't know the feasibility of that. Burch Kiser is asking $2.25 per square foot for that land, which for the entire parcel is over $300K. If they are willing to divide off the back half-acre, and you can access it, the asking price would be about $49K; it may be considered worth less without the Interstate Drive frontage.

I'm not trying to stick my nose where it doesn't belong; I was just looking around yesterday.

I don't think you are sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. We are actually considering that particular lot. Overall the problem arises from obtaining the money to purchase land. That price sure beats what Atkins is wanting for the land on Anthony Drive. He wants $6+ a square foot (since it is zoned retail). Hopefully we will find someone generous enough to donate land.

Well, as I said, if Burch Kiser could find a client for the front five-sixths of that lot and you could configure access to the rear, you might be able to get something to work there. I know DDCIA doesn't have the money to pay BK's asking price (they want $6/sf for the corner lot at Mattis/Interstate, and $2.25/sf for the other three; all four are zoned I-1 Industrial).
