What the heck is this bill from 1987? They say Gary owes $99 from 1987, and with interest it's now almost $2,000. Why would they take 21 years to tell us about this? And they won't renegotiate it. Crap! I know that this state is having money problems, but they aren't the only ones ( Read more... )

Dont pay it, it's bullshit. There are laws against collecting debts out of the blue more than a few years old. Research them! They probably think you'll not be aware of the law and that you'll pay it to make it go away.

Yeah, I think the government, federal, state, county or whatever, can do whatever the hell they want. I called an attorney I used to work for, but he's gone this week, but his secretary said I'd probably have to pay it, but she insisted they'd probably lower it, which they didn't, the asswipes.
