new flat in st annes!

hey
it's been a while since i've posted on here
things have got pretty busy in my life recently and i've not got round to writing about much of it (that and facebook has taken over as my main social networking website)

so i moved house exactly 1 week ago! i'd previously spent 2 years living in a large shared 7 bedroom victorian terraced house in the Redland area of Bristol. the first year i was living there i was commuting to my foundation course in weston-super-mare every weekday. the house was a lot more social during that 1st year as we'd all moved in at the same time. but in the second year of living at that house 2 people left and 2 new people replaced them. i also started my 1st year of photography at UWE.

the actual house moving was the most stressful i've had so far. i'd even say it was more stressful than moving from manchester to bristol 2 years ago! me and dan (who i'm sharing a flat with now) spent ages hassling our new letting agent to try and get this flat sorted. in the end we got keys at 8pm on friday 29th june, and had to be fully cleaned and moved out of the old house by 10am saturday 30th!

lots of stress was had, and last minute cleaning. the new flat me and dan are sharing is only costing us a few more pounds per month rent than the last place. £575 per month shared between us. it's in the st anne's area of bristol, which is about 25 minutes walk away from temple meads train station. as we were the last people moving out of the old house me and dan got the old washing machine and microwave and most of the useful kitchen stuff. dan already had 2 sofas and plenty of bits of wood to make work surfaces with. dan's family have donated a table, 4 matching chairs and a chest freezer :)

here are some photographs i took of the house a month ago when me and dan first viewed it. they were taken with my friend's 10-22mm wide angle lens, so the proportions look a bit odd. i'll take some more photos of it as it looks now, all furnished and cool. we've got a 7.2 surround sound system set up in the living room at the front of the flat, a projector (which i got for £300) and a 17" touchscreen computer. it's a very cool setup, in a newly refurbished flat with new clean work surfaces and laminate floor. much nicer than the student house i had back in redland.
so yeah, i'm all settled in my new house now. some bills to sort out now, but at least i've got internet sorted :D 10mbit virgin media broadband (20mbit by the end of the month when they upgrade it)!

i've got glade festival to go to from 19th to 22nd july with dan, amy, jack and a few other people i know. i hope the nice weather i've seen over the past few days sticks with us!

then i need to worry about a job, and getting some money sorted for the summer before uni starts again in september. and go visit manchester people at some point over summer

glade, moving house
