I was going to go down to DC because I have the day off and stare intently into the space capsules at Air and Space, and otherwise get some culture and a good cappuccino at Paragon.

BUT! MARC train doesn't run on holidays anymore. Thanks budget cuts! Now I'll never get any culture and good coffee.

you do know that there is a light rail-bus-metro route that runs on holidays you could have taken, right?

I do have to say, the current issues around mass transit are mindboggling stupid. A great example of being pennywise, but poundSTUPID.

We are having all time highs for mass transit ridership, MARC included, and they want to cut back on routes! We've got massive ecological problems, and they want to cut back on routes! We've got tons of gridlock and traffic, and they want to cut back on routes!

Where is the WPA to start laying some track?
