Agree with everything you said. Sad and tragic it may have been, but it was a satisfying end to Merlin and Arthur's journey.

Looking forward to your recap!

It was amazing! The emotions and the action! The freaking reveal! Even old Merlin in modern clothing (Haha)! I only have two complaints:

One: Too many holes. What happened to Aithusa? Where are the epoc dragon fights? What was people's reactions to Gwaine's and Arthur's deaths? I think this should have been a three parter because there was not just holes, but scenes were too short. They should have ditched The Hollow Queen and made another episode in the finale. Ninety minutes is just not long enough!

Two: Magic appears to still be banned! Where is the Albion we were promised? The Albion where magic is free? The Albion that Arthur was destined to create? Who cares about united kingdoms! I want magic to be free! Yet that didn't happen like I wanted it to!

Yeah, kinda what I was expecting. It wasn't so awful that it's ruined the show for me forever, so that's good. As long as a show can end without me wanting to throw something at the screen (or with me huddled in a ball laughing hysterically), then I'm happy. The 'love story' between the two of them was nicely done (after all, how can it not be love if you're willing to wait centuries for someone to return?) The real story says that Arthur is supposed to die, so that really wasn't a surprise. Do I wish it had been longer and that they had actually filled some of the gaping plot holes? Absolutely. Do I wish that the series had been run by folks who knew what consistency was? Sure. But I'm ok with the end as it is.

I am pretty upset with myself because I only jumped on the Merlin bandwagon this series (yet my Pa has watched from the beginning lol), No one ever told me of the beauty that is Gwaine. I need to buy the boxset now and read all the slash fics I can.

Oh and *waves like a mad woman*
