My whole life, my goal has been to "get out of this place". Where do I end up going to college? Clinton, NY!!! So I definitely hear ya. Although I've never had a job as well-paying or "cushy" as yours. Meh, I have faith you'll end up somewhere else. Excitement is much more engaging than comfort. Move to NYC, fall in with a dangerous crowd of artists and writers...go to grad school, do lots of cool [drugs] things. It'll be fun. Hell, I might be there too.

eh i think 'get the hell out of dodge' is kind of a stock, adolescent mentality. it's not really about leaving (hell, every somewhereelse is someone elses anywherebuthere). somewhere along the line of angsty teenage (not that i feel about teenagerdom quite yet even) restlessness everyone is suddenly convinced *their town* is their big problem. (just check out the super cool, mass produced patches in hot topic. haha). and yeah yeah i know i know, and i do support whole heartedly seeing the world, etcetcetc but i dunno know, dude. i know theres a fine line between settling and settling down, but don't fear your hometown like the plague based solely on the fact that is your HomeTown i guess it all. also remember that virtually every belief you've ever formed in your life has been as a teenager, so don't consider any new beliefs treason. maybe thats just the perspective you were trying to gain the whole time.

Me, out of all people should not be telling you this. You -know- I like security, stability and ease, but wouldn't you agree that by staying home, within this comfortable enviroment, you lose the whole excitement of "getting out of this place"? Part of moving on, growing up and exploring is venturing into the places where we do not feel so easily accepted. But, that's also part of the fun.

You'll always have this place as your home.
Always.
But this is -your- turn to make somewhere yours.
