Hi Dean................
Long time no see or talk.
What do you think of a Gretch hollow(semi hollow body) bass? Any experiance with non solid bodies. Very few companies are making them..or ever did. Straight accustic/el;ectics are everwher and being used by many via amplification. Jack Cassidy of Jefferson Airplane has one named after him by epiphone and a few other do but the Gretch............damm it has a nice warm tone. Not a funky sound or as is generally know for solid bodies but I am digging it and want your opnion.

I fell in love when I was 8 years old with a solid body standup by ampeg, which is, I've heard, THE bass for latino bands.
the problem with semi acoustics is feedback and/or weird overtones at volume. In the end if you like the feel and the sound thats all that matters.
a quality instrument is a quality instrument, and a "sound" investment, so, good luck.
