Erin, this makes me sad. I'm not going to advise because I'm the type to cut and run, but I feel where you're coming from right now. :(

Sweetie, I think you just need to let him help you. He loves you, and you should try to accept that and be happy with that. I know it's hard. I don't like myself either, but if Scott can find something to love in me, then Teddy (that's him, right?) can find something to love in you too. And that's what's important. You sort of have to believe that if someone can love you for you, then there's something good in there that's worth that love. You may not be able to see it, but that other person can, and if you love that person in return then you can learn to trust their judgment. Feeling safe is important; that means you totally trust that person. However, if you are truly unhappy, then by all means you should go and find something else that makes you happy. But don't run away.
