My heart is on a rollercoaster

We shared a little twin bed,
in the corner of the room
wrapped ourselves in a blanket
Wasn't planning to stay
so i slept in my clothes
I didn't mind the discomfort
there were more important things
as you wrap yourself around me
and it seems to me
that the more you break my heart
the more I want to be a part of you
just some part of you

who's to say that what has never been will never be

it's easy to be lonely, natural , like grass growing between cracks of a pavement

It's so lonely when you don't pick up the phone
you feel more like some character
written down, what you look like, what you would say
I'm talking to myself now
in circles mostly

You are what you love...not what loves you back

I watched you take off
like an airplane going to some
country that I couldn't pronounce
the door seemed like a heavy engine
closing and propelling you
towards the sun..

I wanted love ,
the kind I read about in books,
books nervous piles, dusty, irrelevant
like a wall around the room.
i tried to keep you out
you hurt me like a cactus
I was stupid I guess
kept on reaching out
expecting a flower maybe..

When you make it easy for someone
keep in mind that,
they will make it twice as hard for you
