The thoughts tormented Wooyoung as he sat on the park bench, first staring out at the water but then to the wet pavement. His mind went over it again.
'I love you. I love you Jang Wooyoung.'
He shivered, rubbing his arms to get rid of the goosebumps. What was next..? Oh right...
'Have confidence!'
Subconscious or not, this was still Nichkhun that was telling him.
"Have confidence in what?"
Wooyoung let his head fall over the edge of the bench. He sighed as he closed his eyes. The only reason he could think to have confidence in was to confess.
He pressed his lips tightly together.
Confess what?
He had nothing to confess. He loved Nichkhun... As a friend and nothing more. He hadn't really thought of having stronger feelings towards the older boy. Thus made him think, such feelings didn't exist.
He opened his eyes.
So let's say for a moment, he did love Nichkhun. How would this play out?
He frowned.
It probably wouldn't much different than their current relationship, other than the intimacy. They already lived together, ate together, slept together.
Wooyoung tried to rub away the goosebumps again.
They slept together, meaning sleep and nothing more... Other than maybe a few times Nichkhun cuddle against him.
Were those feelings?
Wooyoung wondered.
He didn't push the older boy away so did that mean he did had feelings?
He shook his head.
No, because they were friends. Wooyoung had been friends with Nichkhun so long that anything seemed okay.
He closed his eyes again.
'I realized I liked spending time with you.'
Wooyoung agreed with this.
'I wanted to give some kind of pill that would make you forget that woman was even in your life.'
Wooyoung lifted his head from the bench.
Were his own thoughts that much different? Hadn't he once felt that way about Nichkhun?
'You can't stay in this sort of relationship. I won't let you. I won't let her hurt you.'
He had said it. The words had come from his own mouth. But how did he feel then?
At the time it sounded greedy... Maybe a little too overprotective. He remembered feeling like he wanted to locked up Nichkhun if he did go running back to Victoria, that was until she slapped him. She had laid her hand on him and when Nichkhun went to run to his side, that woman held him back.
He wasn't going to lie about how he felt then. The pain he had felt when she pulled the older boy out the door, the emptiness and the broken heart Nichkhun had left when he exited Wooyoung's house.
It broke his heart even more when Nichkhun showed up at his house the next day. He knew the only reason the taller boy wanted to run was to escape from Victoria, if not only for a short time. The only reason he had asked Wooyoung was so that the younger boy could comfort him when he needed it.
At the time he thought Nichkhun didn't even love him at all. That was until the older showed up at his door drunk, telling him that he loved both Wooyoung and Victoria. That was what Wooyoung could believe, but he didn't know how much Nichkhun had meant.
He loved Nichkhun as a friend, that much he could admit. Anymore than that just felt wrong... Taboo... Inappropriate.
It was true, he felt lonely when his girlfriend had dumped him, but it hurt him more when the older boy would show up at his door with Victoria under his arm. She reminded him of his ex, despite her helping hand of defending the younger boy. When she giggled, it nagged at his smile. When she held Nichkhun's hand, it nagged at his brain. When they kissed, it nagged at his heart.
Wooyoung blamed all those feelings on just losing his girlfriend. She had mentioned once, that she was jealous of Nichkhun's relationship with him. She had said she hated that her boyfriend would go and seek advice from the older boy rather than her. She wanted Wooyoung to put more trust in her but he thought of Nichkhun being the only person for the job.
When it all came down to it, he supposed it was true. The real reason they had broke up was because of Nichkhun. The reason why Victoria and Nichkhun broke up was because of Wooyoung. He could see it all so clearly now and yet...
"Me with Nichkhun...?"
The image just didn't seem right, in his head. The scenes with his girlfriend played out in his mind as he replaced her with Nichkhun. Scenes just kept getting weirder and weirder until an image of Nichkhun kissing him brought his brain to a sudden halt because he knew what was next. What was next was something he just couldn't fathom at the moment.
He shook his head, trying to break away the thought. He put his head between his hands as he leaned over.
If they had gotten into a relationship, would Nichkhun want to be intimate? He wasn't intimate now but was that only because they weren't together?
He shivered as he thought about Nichkhun's lips pressing against his own. Would they be soft? Would they be thick? He never looked at the older boy's mouth, at least not in that way.
Would there be tongue?
Wooyoung's eyes widened as he threw himself back against the bench.
"Hyung? Are you okay?"
He looked at the stranger with wide eyes but blinked, looking back at the ground. "I'm alright Chansung."
The taller boy sat down next to him. "I wasn't sure that was you until I came closer. You're... Sitting alone in a park. Are you feeling down again?"
The older boy shook his head. "No, just thinking. It's nicer outside so I thought I'd clear my head."
"Ah, um hyung?"
"Hm?" Wooyoung turned his head, looking at the younger boy.
"I'm sorry."
He raised brow. "Sorry for what?"
Chansung sighed. "I told Victoria and Junho that you weren't at work. Victoria insisted that she'd take some food to you before I had the chance to tell her that you weren't sick."
"It's fine Chansung."
"D-did she come to your house?"
"She did."
"I told her not to."
Wooyoung smiled. "It's fine."
"Hey hyung, now that you're out, why don't we go get some coffee?"
"I have some coffee at home..." Wooyoung paused. "But I'm sure the cafe misses me."
Chansung smiled as they got up and left for the cafe.
~
Nichkhun paced the kitchen, jumping from surprise as Wooyoung came in the door.
"It's about time you got home! I want you to try something..." Nichkhun paused, sniffing the air around Wooyoung. "You smell like coffee."
"Mm, I have coffee with Chansung."
"Oh." The older boy turned, heading back to the kitchen.
"Nichkhun..."
"How are your feet today?" The taller boy asked, his back to Wooyoung.
"Nichkhun..."
"What?"
"What was that face?"
Nichkhun swallowed. "What face?"
"That disgusted face you just gave me when I mentioned Chansung."
"I didn't make a face."
Wooyoung stepped close to the older boy. "You did... Nichkhun... Were you jealous?"
"Of course I was..!" Nichkhun flipped around, startled at how close the younger boy was, but used it to his advantage as he pinned Wooyoung to the counter. "...Jealous. You were with someone else... Another man."
"I'm not gay Nichkhun."
"Not even for me?" The older boy asked, pressing his forehead against the smaller boy's.
Wooyoung's words suddenly failed him as he stared into Nichkhun's eyes. He watched as the older boy's eyes traveled to his lips. He could feel Nichkhun's breath tickle them as he breathed out.
"Why aren't you running?" Nichkhun whispered.
"I-I don't know..."
"You should be..."
Wooyoung gasped just before Nichkhun pressed his lips to his own. His whole body shivered and he was too shocked to rub the goosebumps away. He allowed two thoughts to slip through before he was absorbed into the kiss.
Nichkhun's lips were soft... And yes... There would be tongue.
When the older boy finally released his lips, Wooyoung fell back against the counter, the both of them panting. The smaller boy suddenly raised a brow.
"Is something burning?"
Nichkhun's eyes widened. "Shit!"
He ran around the kitchen, flicking switches and pulled pots off their burners. Wooyoung slid down to the floor, watching Nichkhun's feet run around the tile floor.
"I guess we won't be eating this..."
"Don't worry about it... We'll get take-out."
"But I worked so hard on it." Nichkhun pouted, looking down at Wooyoung.
The smaller boy looked up, his eyes a bit glazed over.
"But I suppose take-out means no dishes, right?"
