Title: New Perspective
Genre: Complicated Friendship
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Junsu/Taecyeon
Summary: Taecyeon hasn’t lived with the trainees of JYP long and Junsu already touches him so casually.
Note: Ignoring the fact that Taecyeon is actually outgoing and that he's lived and is accustomed to Korea. I was going to make it NC-17 but I like this better ( XD sorry Eena)
Disclaimer: I do not own 2PM.
Taecyeon was used to being touched and hugged by other guys and he really didn't mind, until someone new entered his life. It didn't take him long to observe his new friend, Kim Junsu. The other boy was short and older than himself and he found traits that were easy to pick out. Taecyeon chuckled to himself, “No one wears their pants around their butt anymore...” He couldn't help but notice the belt that made Junsu's ass stick out over the top. It wasn't something that Taecyeon wanted to know but the other boy has a long, thick tongue. Junsu liked to lips a lot and Taecyeon would just shake his head when the smaller boy would wipe away the excess spit. Of course, the only reason he noticed these things was because Junsu seemed to cling to him like a sibling too scared to separate.
“Yah!” Junsu shouted at someone as he latched on to Taecyeon. The tall boy ignored him as he kept walking until Junsu held him back. The older boy continued to talk so Taecyeon slipped his arm out of Junsu's grip. He started to walk away and just as he reached the fifth step, Junsu was attached to him again, “Sorry, Changmin owes me something,” the small boy smiled, not noticing the awkward look on Taecyeon's face.
He could see that Junsu was oblivious to the fact that his personal bubble was about to pop. The other boy was shy at first, only slapping him on the back and smiling. Junsu had quickly moved on from that, becoming more bold and annoying.
“Yah Taecyeon!” Junsu chirped in his ear, “Let's go out to eat!”
“I don't have any money,” Taecyeon grumbled, hoping that it was an excuse not to go out with the talkative boy.
“Don't worry! I'll pay!”
Before Taecyeon could even start to protest, the smaller boy was dragging him down a busy street. He opened his mouth several times to make up something to excuse himself but Junsu didn't seem to hear him. He sighed loudly just as the older boy stopped in front of a vender.
“Something wrong?”
Taecyeon looked at the small vender then at Junsu before shaking his head, “No.”
“Then come on! Sit! Sit!” Junsu forced the tall boy onto a stool and took the empty one next to him, “Eat as much as you want!”
He took advantage of the small boy's offer as he stuffed his face, feeling guilty afterwards when he saw the look on Junsu's face as he looked through his wallet. The guilt also grew in the pit of his stomach as he waited for his shorts to pop open, “Sorry...”
“Hm? Oh it's okay, I said to eat as much as you wanted,” Junsu smiled.
Taecyeon slightly waddled as he walked, noticing the older boy to be walking alone and not clinging like he normally would, 'Is he upset that I made him spend all his money?' He stared at Junsu's face, seeing him pout, 'He's definitely upset...' Taecyeon's arm felt a little cold.
“Yah Taecyeon...”
“Hm?”
Junsu bit his lip, “Do you hate me?”
The tall boy blinked in confusion, “Hate you? Why would I hate you?”
Junsu started to fidget, “I see the look on your face when I hold your arm... I-I'm sorry if it bothers you. I won't do it again.”
“Then why did you keep doing it?” Taecyeon covered his mouth, seeing the small boy's eyes widen. He hadn't meant to say it with a tone.
“I-I don't know... I just wanted to and since you never said anything... I thought that you were just really shy and reserved so I thought if I got close to you, you'd open up... I guess I was just being stupid, huh?” Junsu looked up and smiled but froze when he saw Taecyeon's wide eyes.
The tall boy exhaled, breaking their eye contact, “Do I really seem that distant?”
“Everyone here talks a lot... We're like family. You're really quiet and do what you're told. It's not that that's a bad thing... But...”
“I'm sorry.”
Junsu blinked in confusion, “For what?”
“To be honest,” the younger boy blushed, “I'm so used to the US. Things are still kind of new to me and I don't want to do anything wrong.”
“But you were born here, weren't you?”
“I went to school here too... I guess I adapted to their customs a lot easier.”
“Ask me then!”
“Hm?” Taecyeon raised a brow.
“If you want to know anything or make sure that you're not doing anything wrong, ask me!”
“Uh...”
“It's fine!” Junsu smiled.
“If you say so.”
“Nope.”
“Nope.”
“Nope again.”
Taecyeon pointed a cheap package at the grocery store.
“Are you just pointing at random things?”
“No.”
“You actually eat this... This cleaning solution?”
The tall boy blinked before looking at the item. He covered his face with his palm, making Junsu chuckle.
“Are you testing me? Don't believe in my skills?”
“I- sorry,” Taecyeon blushed in embarrassment.
Junsu quickly discovered the tall boy's habits as he opened up to him. Taecyeon liked to sleep, a lot. He found it easy to wake the younger boy though. Junsu giggled when Taecyeon would rise out of bed, immediately searching for his glasses before wobbling into the hallway.
“Are you going to get laser surgery when you become an idol?”
Taecyeon adjusted his glasses, pushing them up his nose, “I quite like my glasses. They give me personality.”
“You mean other than your bright orange p-”
“Shut up. I like my clothes too.”
Junsu chuckled, sipping on his coffee. Taecyeon was often fun to tease and the small boy seemed to laugh a lot more with him around. He was shocked the first time he had seen the clothing in Taecyeon's closet. Sure Junsu had colourful and odd clothing but this was new to him, “Is it an American style?”
“No, it's my style,” Taecyeon glared.
“OK Style,” the older boy laughed, “New to hit stores!”
Junsu leaned away from the foot that was aimed at his butt, “What's with this?” Taecyeon asked, grabbing the small boy's belt.
“Y-yah Taecyeon!”
“Isn't this passed the era we're in now?” the tall boy played with Junsu's belt, pulling it up and down as he threatened to expose the older boy. He heard Junsu whimper and he looked down at the small boy, seeing a bright blush covering his face. The other boy's hands were tightly secured on his own as he griped them. Taecyeon blinked, not expecting this kind of reaction. For someone who was so outgoing, Junsu seemed to be extremely embarrassed. Taecyeon let go of the older boy's pants, “Sorry.”
Junsu quickly grabbed his belt, tightening it once more. He yelped and jumped when Taecyeon poked his ass.
“This is bulging out.”
The small boy walked away, leaving Taecyeon standing by himself.
“Yah!” the younger boy ran after Junsu. He grabbed the smaller boy and turned him around, watching him nibble at his shirt cuff, “Why'd you walk away like that?”
“I just remembered something that I have to get.”
“Oh,” Taecyeon exhaled, knowing that the other boy was lying.
“Yah Taec-ah,” Junsu fixed the tall boy's bow tie, “You'll do fine, I'm sure of it.”
“I know I will, I have your guidance.”
The small boy blushed and cleared his throat, not going unnoticed by Taecyeon, “If you're ever in real big trouble, call me okay?”
Taecyeon put his hands over the older boy's, making Junsu hold his breath, “I'll be okay, don't worry.”
He sent the tall boy off, standing at the door still after Taecyeon left. 'Will he really call me if something happens? Nothing will happen right? He'll be okay?' Junsu kept himself up with worried as he paced his dorm, his phone gripped tightly in his hand.
He rubbed his eyes as he sat down on the couch, “Can't sleep, Taecyeon needs me.” Junsu blushed, “No, he might need my help... He doesn't need me,” the small boy frowned, feeling his heart ache.
“It's 1AM, Junsu should be sleeping by now but he probably isn't,” Taecyeon muttered to himself as he got to their dorm, “Idiot probably kept himself up all night.” He opened the door slowly, expecting Junsu to tackle him but he was surprised when the dorm was silent. He stepped into the room, looking around, “Not here?” Taecyeon took off his shoes before walking down the hallway and he glanced into the living room, smiling as he stopped. He took a blanket from the end of the couch and laid it over Junsu, “I didn't think you'd go to bed,” Taecyeon whispered.
Just as he was about to tuck the edges under the small boy, Junsu muttered in his sleep, “Mm Taecyeon...” The younger boy blinked, thinking he had woken up Junsu but the small boy nudged the pillow, “I love you.”
Taecyeon stumbled backward, creating a bunch of noise before he ran to hide behind the wall. He heard Junsu shuffle on the couch as the small boy sat up and rubbed his eyes.
“Taecyeon?”
The tall boy quickly and quietly made his way to his room, throwing his jacket and shirt onto the chair and diving into the bed. He just had enough time to sink under the blankets before Junsu came into the room.
“He's already asleep,” Junsu sighed. He approached the tall boy's bed, “I guess he made it okay.” He leaned over and kissed Taecyeon's forehead, “Goodnight.”
The younger boy clutched the pillow under his head, his mind only thinking of those three words, 'That can't be right... But he said it in his sleep. Maybe he meant as a friend...' Taecyeon touched his forehead, 'Friends don't kiss other friend's foreheads, do they?' He pulled the blanket over his head and tried to fall asleep.
Taecyeon exhaled as he woke up. He rolled onto his side before he opened his eyes; opening them wide.
“How did it go last night?”
The tall boy blushed, seeing Junsu too close to his face first thing in the morning. He swallowed, watching Junsu's tongue snake out between his lips to lick them, “F-fine.”
“You didn't call or text me,” the small boy crawled onto the bed and rolled over Taecyeon, “I was worried about you.”
Taecyeon wasn't sure if he would just accepted the older boy's actions because now it was just too awkward. He suddenly bolted upright in the bed.
“Something wrong?”
“I-I have to go to the bathroom.”
“Well hurry back, I want to hear all about it.”
Taecyeon jumped off the bed and locked himself in the bathroom. He stared at himself in the mirror, 'It's because of what he said in his sleep, isn't it? I mean, I don't even know if it's true. What if we're just really good friends? I don't want to ruin that... I like him.'
“Yah, are you masterbating in there?” Junsu asked as he knocked on the door.
“No!” Taecyeon quickly lifted the toilet lid and pulled himself out of his pants as the small boy opened the door. His eyes widened and Junsu fell backwards.
“S-sorry!”
The tall boy blushed, feeling humiliation for a reason he wasn't sure as to why. Junsu held his hand over his mouth as he had a deep blush all over his face. His heart thumped against his chest as he tried to calm it. He quickly ran to his room and closed the door, “I saw it.”
Taecyeon stood glued to the spot. He slowly tucked himself back into his pants before standing stiff for a few minutes. He heard a crash from Junsu's room and he ran to it, “What happened?!”
Junsu stared at the tall boy as books and stuffed animals fell down around him. A fairly large book came down on his head, making Junsu wince. Taecyeon was about to say something when he noticed a tall stack of books wobbling over the small boy's head.
“Junsu get out of there!”
The small boy blinked at him stupidly and Taecyeon dove at him just as the books fell. The younger boy winced but his eyes were wide as he stared at Junsu. He could feel the smaller boy's breath on his lips. “T-Taecyeon...”
Taecyeon's mouth formed words but nothing escaped his throat. Junsu moved an inch closer, tilting his head slightly but paused, 'No, I can't... He's just a friend.' He winced before pulling away, “Are you alright?”
“M-mm... My back,” Taecyeon whispered, suddenly remembering and feeling pain in his back.
“Did you get hurt?” Junsu quickly scrambled around the tall boy and lifted his shirt.
“Yah!” the younger boy blushed.
“Taecyeon! You've got bruises here,” Junsu frowned. His heart skipped a beat when Taecyeon shivered as he touched the bruises lightly, “I have cream for this.”
The tall boy raised a brow, “Cream for a bruise?”
“Lay on my bed.”
“What?!”
Junsu held up the cream, “Unless you want me to apply it while you're laying in a pile of books.”
Taecyeon looked around himself, “Yeah... I guess.” He got off the floor and carefully crawled on Junsu's bed. Without thinking, he made himself comfortable by slipping his hand under the pillow and laying against it. Junsu smirked before he climbed onto the bed and sat on the tall boy's lower back. Taecyeon stiffened, feeling the older boy's ass nudge his own.
“Aiish, it's going to be cold,” Junsu warned.
The younger boy hissed as Junsu applied the cream. He let out his breath and nudged the pillow. A shiver ran through Taecyeon's body and the other boy's hands suddenly felt like heaven. Junsu's fingers were moving all over his back, places that he swore that weren't covered in bruises.
“Taecyeon.” Junsu raised a brow when the tall boy didn't answer, “Yah Taec-” he blinked, hearing Taecyeon breathing softly. He smiled, watching the tall boy sleep, “Cute.” Junsu lightly stroked the younger boy's cheek before leaning over to kiss it, “You just woke up and now you want to sleep,” Junsu glanced at the clock and sighed, “I guess you have a few more hours.”
Taecyeon blinked sleepily, raising his head off the pillow. He rubbed his eyes before looking around the room, “This isn't my room...” he said before slowly sitting up. He noticed the clock and bolted out of the bed, “Shit!”
“What's the matter?”
“I'm going to be late!”
“Don't worry,” Junsu smiled, “My clock is twenty minutes fast.”
Taecyeon narrowed his eyes at the small boy, “Why?”
“So I can be ready early.”
“Must take you too long to get ready. Vanity issue.”
Junsu glared at the younger boy, “I care about my looks, unlike some people.”
“I get out of bed naturally gorgeous.”
The small boy choked over his coffee, “You wish.”
Taecyeon collapsed on the floor, sweating and tired from dancing. “Here,” Junsu offered him a water bottle and before he had a chance to take it, the older boy threw a towel on his face. Taecyeon grumbled before taking the cloth off his face.
He sat up, “Thanks.”
“I see you're working hard.”
“We have to it we want to graduate from being trainees. Aren't you working hard?” Taecyeon asked, not paying attention to the other boy.
“Mm...” Junsu pressed the bottle to his lips. At the beginning, he had tried his hardest to even be a trainee and through the months, his ambition was to make it as an idol. His feelings now changed as Taecyeon came into his life. He knew that neither of them would be trainees forever but Junsu knew that eventually they'd have to part ways. Sure they'd see each other all the time but Taecyeon would have to move out of their dorm and Junsu would never have the chance to come home with the tall boy.
“Junsu?” Taecyeon waved in hand in front of the small boy's face.
“S-sorry, I have to go,” Junsu mumbled, tears stinging his eyes as he got up.
The younger boy raised a brow, he had seen Junsu's eyes, 'Is he afraid that he won't make it?' Taecyeon stood up, deciding that he was going to find the older boy. He was about to push the bathroom door open when he hear soft sobbing. He paused, listening carefully. He was sure that it was Junsu's voice.
“Stupid,” the older boy cried, “I'm so stupid,” his breath hitched, “We can't stay trainees forever. Give up on him... You're so stupid, Junsu babo.”
'Stupid, what's he stupid for?'
“Maybe if I tell him that I love him when we debut... Then we won't see each other as much and it doesn't matter if he rejects me...”
Taecyeon's heart started to beat faster and the small boy started to cry again.
“OK Taecyeon, when you debut, when you move out, take my heart with you.”
The younger boy fell against the door, causing a loud thud. He quickly ran out of the room and headed back to the training room. He collapsed on the floor, his heart pounded against his ribs from running and shock. Taecyeon heard a sniffle above his head before hands planted themselves on his shoulders. He jumped, looking up at Junsu. The smaller boy's were red and puffy.
“Haven't you calmed down yet? You're still sweating and panting.”
Taecyeon blinked at the older boy, “Where did you go?”
“My contacts were bothering me,” Junsu rubbed his eye.
The corner of the tall boy's lip twitched but his bit his tongue to stop himself from asking, “I didn't know you wore contacts.”
Junsu tensed, “Y-yeah...” he turned away just as the music started up again.
The small boy kept his distance as they headed back to the dorm. Taecyeon felt a chill on his arm and he rubbed it, wondering why. He watched Junsu walk ahead of him and he stopped suddenly. Realization hit Taecyeon. 'If we debuted, Junsu wouldn't be around as much... He wouldn't be hanging off me. I doubt we'd be in the same group. What if we debuted at different times? We'd never see each other.'
“Taecyeon?” Junsu whispered so softly that he almost didn't hear it. He looked up, seeing the smaller boy looking at him sadly, “Are you coming in?”
“Mm...”
Taecyeon went straight to his room, thoughts plaguing his mind too much and he needed to be alone, 'Am I thinking too much about this? Am I only thinking this because Junsu said he loved me? He won't be in my life as much... We won't be able to practice together or hang out or talk about things because we'll both be doing different things...' Taecyeon sighed. He rubbed his temple before hearing the front door close. He got up slowly, peeking out of his room. He walked around the dorm, sensing no signs of life, “Junsu?” Taecyeon looked into the small boy's room but it was empty.
He stepped into the room, looking around it for the first time since he had been there. Junsu's walls were decorated with photos and music notes. Taecyeon knew that music was the older boy's life and his dream was to become a singer. He accidentally kicked the table and something fell on his foot, “Shit!” Taecyeon cursed, plopping down on the bed and rubbing his toe. He picked up the object that had fallen; Junsu's phone. Taecyeon flipped it open, almost dropping it.
I can't it anymore. I've had enough. I have to end this now. I'm going now.
Was an unsent text to another one of their trainee friends. Taecyeon gasped, clutching the phone tightly and bolting out of the room. He ran down the stairs and out of the building, looking left to right, “Shit, where would he go?”
The phone buzzed in Taecyeon's hand, “Hello!”
“This isn't Junsu...” the voice on the other end said.
“Where is he?!”
“Taecyeon?”
“Where is Junsu?!”
“I don't know, isn't he with you?”
“No! He just left!”
“Calm down, he probably went to the park. He likes to go there when he wants to think.”
“That park we all went to together?!”
“Yeah that one... Why do you sound angry?”
“I have to save him!”
“Heh, save him then,” the voice on the other line said but Taecyeon hung up too quickly to hear it.
He ran through the street, glaring through his glasses to see in the night. He squeezed the phone tightly in his hand as he ran. “You better be there,” Taecyeon panted.
He tripped as he entered the park, landing hard on the dry dirt. He ignored the stains on his pants as he continued to run. Taecyeon tried to remember the directions from before, having a harder time to navigate in the dark. He stopped, leaning against a tree to catch his breath. He let out a breath as he looked up.
“Taecyeon? What are you doing here?” Junsu sniffled, wiping his eyes quickly.
“This,” the tall boy panted, “What does this mean?”
Junsu gasped, “I-I-”
“Tell me. Tell me you're not going to kill yourself.”
The small boy raised a brow, “No I wasn't going to- Where would you get that idea?” Taecyeon tossed him and he read the text, “Taecyeon I came here to-... I came to clear my head and to forget...”
“...Forget?”
Tears wielded up in Junsu's eyes, “I-I don't want this to be awkward.”
“Tell me Junsu. I won't let you run anywhere, I'll catch you.”
“I wish you wouldn't say that,” tears run down the older boy's cheek, “If I decided to give up, would you tell me not to? If I ran... Would you really chase me? How far Taecyeon?”
Taecyeon stood up, approaching the small boy. He saw Junsu take a step back but he quickly reached forward and snatched his wrist, “I told you, I wouldn't let you run.”
“Are you going to answer me Taecyeon?”
“I don't want you to give up Junsu, we'll debut together.”
The small boy chuckled sadly, “That's not what I mean.”
“I won't let you run, you need to accomplish your dream.”
“Stupid...”
“And I would chase you to the ends of the earth.”
Junsu's eyes widened, “W-what?” He tensed when the tall boy pressed his lips to his own. He clenched Taecyeon's shirt tightly. “T-that's not an American custom”
The younger boy smirked, “I know.”
“Y-yah Taec-ah,” Junsu fidgeted with his fingers in his lap as they sat on the couch.
“Mm?”
“I love you.”
Taecyeon bit his lip, pretending to ignore the small boy. He continued to watch the tv when he felt Junsu staring at him, waiting for an approval. He saw the older boy whimper slightly as he pouted, “I'm sorry, did you say something?”
“I-I said...”
“What?” Taecyeon turned his attention full on the small boy.
Junsu blushed, “I said I l-love you.”
“Hm, what?”
“I love you.”
“What?”
“I. Love you.”
“I didn't catch that.”
“Yah!” Junsu tackled the tall boy against the couch, “I said,” he said, leaning over Taecyeon, bringing their lips close together, “I love you.”
Taecyeon smiled, caressing the small boy's cheek, “I love you too... I think.” He laughed at Junsu's expression.
“Yah! What's that supposed to mean?!”
