Taecyeon exhaled with a giant smile on his face as he walked out of the busy building. His day couldn't get any better, he decided. His grin reached his ears as he read over the paper in his hand again. Congratulations OK Taecyeon. Taecyeon's lip twitched. Welcome to- He looked away from the paper, looking out into the world with a new perspective, “My life starts today. Everything I worked for up to this moment was for this day.”

A tall, short haired boy bounced in front of Taecyeon, a bit out of breath, “So, did-” the boy took a breath, “Did you get it?”

Taecyeon frowned, looking down at the ground, “Hyung...”

The other boy searched Taecyeon's face for a hint of a joke but when he didn't see it, his own face turned into a look of sympathy and pity, “Taec, I'm sor-”

“I got in!” Taecyeon shouted, wrapping his arms tightly around the tall boy's neck.

The other boy blinked before it clicked in. He lifted Taecyeon off his feet and hugged him before letting go. He jokingly punched the shorter boy in the arm, “Yah! Don't joke around with me like that... You really scared me. You've worked so hard for this.”

“I know I know, I think if I didn't make it, you wouldn't see me standing here.”

“And there would be rain clouds, I know.”

“You know me too well Seulong-hyung,” Taecyeon laughed.

“So! We need to celebrate!”

“Ah hyung, you know I'm not into that. I'd rather just stay home an-”

“Nonsense! To the club!” Seulong grabbed the younger boy as headed home; to change of course.

The bass pounded in Taecyeon's ears as he stood by the bar. He rested his elbows against the counter, watching Seulong dance with some random girl. He smiled, swallowing the last bit of his drink before setting it down on the bar.

“Can I buy you another?”

“Sorry, men aren't my thing,” Taecyeon said, fingering to the bartender for another drink.

“I think a thing like you deserves a good... Strong...”

“Listen,” Taecyeon said, getting annoyed. He turned around, about to scowl when a shorter male figure greeted him with a smile.

“...Hug. Congrats dude, you've earned it.”

Taecyeon smiled, offering his arms out as he excepted the shorter boy.

“Damn, my little boy is all grown up and joining the real world,” the boy wiped his eyes, “But seriously, I don't want to ever see you on one of those reality shows like Big Brother or something, you hear me?”

“Yeah yeah and I ain't your little boy Doojoon, I'm older and taller than you.”

“Only by this much,” Doojoon made a couple inches with his fingers, making the tall boy laugh.

“I'm sure I probably already know the answer but, who told yo-”

“Doojoon!” Seulong jumped onto the smaller boy, wrapping his arm around his neck, “Why don't I buy you a drink, hm?”

“This is Taecyeon's night, I think you owe him an unlimited supply,” Doojoon smirked.

“Barkeep!” Seulong tapped the counter and three shots appeared before him. He handed the other two boys a glass before raising his up, “To Taecyeon! Our boy is finally going to live out his dream and become a gay model!” the tall boy winced when Taecyeon smacked him, “I mean, he's going to become the world's best, er Korea's best! To Taec!” The three boys toasted and downed their drinks, “Alright! Let's dance!”

Taecyeon groaned, rubbing his head as he laid in bed, “Damn Seulong-hyung, I told him to stop buying me drinks...” Sure, Seulong wasn't forcing the alcohol down his throat but he felt bad for money wasted. Taecyeon rolled over to grab his phone, checking the time but something else caught his eye. He looked at he message on the screen, “1 missed call” Taecyeon blinked in confusion before his phone buzzed in his hand, “Hello?”

“OK Taecyeon?”

“Yes?”

“This is Mr. Horvejkul.”

“Mister whor-” Taecyeon raised a brow, trying to pronounce the name the same way.

“Your new manager!”

“O-oh!” Taecyeon quickly scrambled out of the covers to sit on the edge of the bed.

“We called you earlier but you didn't pick up.”

“I-I'm sorry...” he wasn't about to make up any excuses because lying to his manager on the first day was bad, very bad.

“Anyways, now that I've gotten ahold of you, are you busy today?”

“No sir.”

“Good, we'd like you to come in today to get an early start. I'd like to show you around, if that's alright with you.”

“Sure! I-I'll be right in!”

“Great, I'll see you when you get here.”

Taecyeon hung up, sitting on his bed for a moment. He blinked, staring at the floor before the gears in his head started to turn, “I have to get ready!”

The tall boy raced around his room, trying to pick out an outfit. At the moment, none of his clothes seemed suitable for his new manager or his profession. Going with a purple silk, long sleeve button-up shirt and simple black dress pants, Taecyeon was out the door; ignoring a confused Seulong before the tall boy grumbled a 'good luck'.

Taecyeon stopped suddenly as he stepped in front of the building. He patted down his clothes, trying to make sure he got rid of every crease and fold before taking a deep breath and stepping inside. He walked in slowly, mesmerized by the interior of the building. Taecyeon knew that it would not be just any ordinary design and he shouldn't have really been surprised.

“Beautiful, isn't it?”

“Yeah... I've never seen anything like it.”

“Well, if you think this is something to behold, just wait until you get to work.”

Taecyeon raised a brow before looking down at the shorter, blonde haired man next to him.

“Hi, I'm Nichkhun Horvejkul, your manager.”

The tall boy gasped before bowing, “I-I'm OK Taecyeon, it's nice to meet you sir.”

Nichkhun chuckled, “You don't have to call me sir, that's awkward. I hope that our relationship will be a comfortable one so that you don't have to feel obligated to call me that. Just call me Nichkhun.”

Taecyeon stood up slowly before taking the shorter male's hand, “Okay... Nichkhun.”

“So Taecyeon, I've read over your portfolio and a lot of things have intrigued me.”

“L-like?” he felt nervous suddenly as he saw the curiosity on Nichkhun's face.

“You've never gone to a show?”

Taecyeon's eyes widened as he stared at the floor, “U-uh, I've never really been able to...” he swallowed, “Afford it.”

“Ah,” Nichkhun nodded, like he had heard it before, “You've won in small shows though, that's some accomplishment, yes?”

“Y-yes. I know they were only low budget but I worked really hard.”

The small boy laughed, patting Taecyeon on the shoulder, “Don't worry Taecyeon, you don't have to try to impress me. If you've made it this far, all you have to keep doing is the best you can do. You're safe.”

Taecyeon let out the breath he had been holding, “Oh, okay.”

“Come, let me show you around.”

Taecyeon found himself baffled and speechless by the interior as the older boy led him around. He gave Nichkhun, “Oh's” and “Ah's” as well as a few “mm's” to show that he was still in this world. It wasn't until he bumped into a few fellow models that he lost his voice.

“Taecyeon, this is Park Bom. She's one of our top models here.”

The tall girl smiled, bowing respectively at Taecyeon, “It's nice to meet you,” she said, giggling as the tall boy stared at her, “He must be really new.”

“Forgive him,” Nichkhun smiled, “He doesn't know the proper etiquette,” he said, closing Taecyeon's mouth for him.

The two boys entered a large, dimly lit room where Nichkhun sat behind a large desk. Again, Taecyeon was amazed by everything as he walked in slowly, “Please, sit down,” Nichkhun pointed to one of the chairs in front of the desk.

Taecyeon took a seat, his eyes finally meeting the older boy's as he waited for him to speak.

“Now, as a new model such as yourself, we's like to keep an eye on you. You know, to make sure you're eating, resting and exercising properly. In order to do this, we ask that you move in to one of our dorms. Now, don't get me wrong,” Nichkhun said, seeing a million questions start to process in Taecyeon's mind, “These dorms aren't like what you got in college, they are nice, well designed and spacious.”

“I'd have to move out of my shared apartment...”

Nichkhun frowned, “To start a new career sometimes means to start a new life. Are you ready to do that Taecyeon?”

“C-can I think about it?” Taecyeon asked, instantly feeling regret. He knew that if he said anything wrong, he'd be out the door in a second.

“Of course, I'm not going to force you into anything you don't want to do. You may have signed a contract but I don't own your life,” Nichkhun smiled. “Please don't take too long deciding,” the older boy said as he escorted Taecyeon out of the building, “I hope to hear from you soon. Bye.”

Taecyeon sighed, watching the crowds of people walk by him, “A new life, huh? I guess that's what I wanted.”
