Nothing, absolutely nothing made Taecyeon's heart race faster than the second his eyes jumped to Junho's face after the three words slipped from his lips. Tears wielded up in the younger member's eyes as well as pain before the next thing Taecyeon saw was his backside and the small body disappeared. He gripped his chest, pain along with excitement held his heart tightly and squeezed, making it difficult for him to breath. A hand swatted the back of his head before Junsu got up, cursing under his breath and mumbling, “Idiot.”
To his surprise, Taecyeon heard Junho's voice loud and clear as his scream echoed through the dorm, “Leave me alone!”
Junsu suddenly came back, his eyes narrowed and his fingers balled into fists as he charged towards the tall member, “You fix this and fast OK Taecyeon or this will ruin our group, understand?!”
Taecyeon only gave a slightly nod with his head before the other boy disappeared. His heart was tightening in his chest, feeling weaker with each passing second that his pulse throbbed in his ears.
He had ruined it, he had ruined everything. The chance to get Junho back and have the way things were, were never going to happen. He had just managed to get the other member to talk to him, to look at him, now Junho was hidden in his room and would not talk to anyone. Taecyeon screwed up his friendship, his friend, his group, his life.
Like things in the villa weren't bad enough, now everything was tense and quiet. Not only was Junho never social, the other members would shoot glares at Taecyeon whenever they got back to the villa, safe from prying eyes that would pick up their tense atmosphere. Taecyeon soon felt like a new member recruited into the group and disliked.
His showers were last because the group would all get into the bathroom ahead of him and leave him with the cold water, the last bit of scraping from the rice was all he got to eat when the maknae would knowingly take most of it, his laundry was deliberately left until last and for days. Taecyeon tried not to let the wear show on his face when he appeared with the group for performances or interviews. Despite the cheerful expression on his lips, he was completely defeated. He was tired and lost, no one wanted to talk to him and he had no one to help him.
Taecyeon's career as a singer with his friends was now turning into a job with other people. It had to stop, he had to talk to Junho but it wasn't as easy to just walk up to the younger member and start a conversation. Junho had locked himself inside his room whenever he wasn't at the gym working out.
It was when Taecyeon managed to slip himself inside the smaller male's room, that he noticed the large muscles tensing on Junho's arms, flexing when the small eyes caught him. “Junho... Listen to me.”
Without even mouthing a word, Junho was trying to shove him out of the room but the tall male stuck his arms out to prevent the door from opening. He struggled, trying to keep himself there while the younger member was using every ounce of his strength to push him out. The muscles turned useless as Junho hadn't been eating properly and was only surviving off the little things he nibbled on throughout the day.
“Why won't you listen to me?!” Taecyeon shouted and startled the small male, giving him the opportunity to push Junho back.
The two boys stood in the room, panting from their struggles and looking down at the floor. Junho was the first to speak, “I've heard enough, I don't need to hear anymore.”
“You haven't heard anything... That day... What I said...”
“Don't even say it,” Junho hissed, his fists tightening. “You just missed talking to me, being around me and picking on me like you normally do.”
“No,” the tall member shook his head, “I meant what I said Junho... I really do love you-”
“No, you don't! Who are you trying to fool?!”
Taecyeon looked up as he heard the sharp hitch in the other male's breath, staring with wide eyes as tears streamed down Junho's cheeks. He felt the ache in his chest again, only growing the longer he looked at Junho.
“I told you how I felt about you... And you sulked around the house before coming to me only because you missed me...” Junho swallowed the lump in his throat, knowing it wasn't true. He still remembered the look in Taecyeon's eyes that day. “You made me feel like shit and I still had the heart to let you back in... Now you're going and lying... How can you love me?! You're only saying that because I said I love you-”
A loud thud cut off Junho's sentence as well as thin lips pressing against his own when he was forced against the wall, the lamp on his nightstand falling to the floor next to his feet. He stood in shock as he stared at Taecyeon, the tall boy's eyes were closed as his lips rubbed against his own. Junho's heart pounded in his chest before the tapping in his brain told him to start panicking, and he did. Fists came flying down around Taecyeon, punching and hitting the tall boy in whatever way was possible. The older male didn't move away until an incredibly hard hit to his head made him dizzy.
He cupped Junho's cheeks in his hands and stared into his eyes as the younger male glared intensely, panting hard.”I said I love you, because I love you, not because of this or that. Maybe I was blind to see how much I actually liked your attention, your laughter, your smiles, your heat and your body. You don't know what you have until it's gone, right? You don't know how empty I felt when you left my side, and how much my heart sank when I could no longer see you. I miss everything that has to do with you. I can't be filled with happiness if I can't be with you.”
The tears falling from Junho's eyes had his own stinging, wanting to release the tears he had been holding back since the whole mess had started. His grip loosened and became more gentle as he held the smaller male's face, his heart still being clutched as he waited for a reaction. The pause had his patience growing thin.
“Get out.”
The command was said softly but it still bothered Taecyeon, not being the response he was looking for. His heart sank even more when Junho's eyes met with the floor, his body trembling from the tears running down his cheeks.
“I need time to think.”
Taecyeon couldn't understand what the younger member had meant. He didn't know what Junho needed to think about, he loved him and Junho loved him back, so what was wrong? After closing the door gently, Taecyeon found himself pressed against the wall, Chansung's fist meeting the wood just next to his head.
“Can't you just leave him alone? You've already done enough.”
“Shut up Chansung... We were just talking. Do you hear any yelling going on? I didn't hurt him,” Taecyeon sighed and pushed himself away, his vision growing hazy as he got to his door and slipped into his bedroom, falling against the floor.
A low groan emitted from Taecyeon's lips as he woke up, his body stiff and sore from falling asleep propped up against the door. He sat up, rubbing his fingers into his neck as he massaged the aching spot. Eyeing the bed, he stood on his feet and let out sigh before his ears twitched from the sound of voices coming from the other side of the door. Slowly opening it, he peeked his head out to see if he could make out what the others were saying. To his surprise, Junho's voice was one of them.
His heart jumped from the faint voice, listening to him speak about nothing particular to Junsu, missing just the normalcy of it. Stepping out of his room, he slowed his stride for the moment to last longer before appearing in the kitchen, both voices stopping suddenly. Taecyeon swallowed, wondering if he had made himself present too soon.
“I'll be in my room,” Junho mumbled to the oldest member, taking his plate of food out of the room.
Junsu sighed as he leaned against the counter, watching the younger male leave and Taecyeon step in. He didn't shot lasers at him like Taecyeon had thought he would. “I don't know what you did... Or what he did, but he seems a little better.”
The tall male raised a brow, making Junsu roll his eyes.
“Well look, he's out of his room for once and he even spoke to me. That's an improvement. Now I just have to get him to eat more and work out less.”
Taecyeon's eyes wandered to the place he had last seen Junho before he disappeared around the corner, wondering if his confession had made an impact on the smaller male. Maybe things would get better if he just let Junho have some time to think. He breathed out a sigh of relief before hearing Junsu growl in an annoyed tone.
“Gross man, don't breath all over me.”
A small smile crack upon his lips, the first in weeks.
Little by little, once again, Junho started to open up. Unfortunately for Taecyeon, it wasn't to his advantage at all. The younger member didn't speak to him and continued to ignore his existence, which, even though it upset Taecyeon, he was still happy to see Junho out and about again.
Weeks passed and the throbbing pain in Taecyeon's heart had not disappeared but had gotten worse during his ignorance period. He was too afraid to talk to Junho in fear that it might send him into hiding. The small male wanted time and Taecyeon would allow him all of the time in the world but his patience would not. He couldn't even get a hint as to how long Junho would need because the other member seemed to be doing just fine without him.
Tapping his fingers on his leg, Taecyeon waited for his turn to be in front of the camera. It was currently Wooyoung's turn and the tall member had taken up residence on one of the couches from another set.
“Taecyeon, I need to talk to you.”
Taecyeon blinked and opened his eyes, seeing the serious but soft look on Junho's face. He got up and moved around the couch, following the other male as he started to walk away. Junho closed the door behind them and locked it, not wanting to have to deal with any interruptions or nosey members.
He motioned for Taecyeon to take a seat before sitting down next to him and folding his hands above his knees, sighing while looking down at the floor. “I've been thinking that... I'll go through with this but I won't make it easy for you.” Taecyeon raised a brow and Junho could see this from the corner of his eye, “What I mean is, I want to go out with you, but because of everything that has happened, I won't just say yes and not let what you did be forgiven so easily. I'll put you through the ringer, test you, before we can date. Do you understand?”
Taecyeon stared at the younger male, listening to his words carefully before nodding his head, “I'm kind of worried...” he said, making Junho look at him. “You're going to punish me and I know you're good at it.”
Junho smiled softly, playing with his fingers and nodding, “Mm, I am good at it and I will teach you a lesson for hurting my heart. Prepare yourself Taecyeon, your test starts now.”
The tall male started to fidget nervously before the words flew out of his mouth, “Can I kiss you?”
“No,” Junho replied quickly, shaking his head and pausing as he suddenly started to think.
He sat up, shifting his body until his knees straddled the tall boy's hips, his eyes meeting the dark orbs staring back. Junho swallowed, cupping the older member's cheeks before leaning down and pressing a soft kiss on his lips after waiting for so long. Taecyeon's arms slid slowly around his waist, holding him closer and deepening the kiss slightly with a harder press against his lips.
“I guess this means things will get back to normal.” Junsu mumbled as the rest of the members peeked through the crack of the door once Wooyoung unlocked it.
“Except now we'll have them making out and doing stuff in the villa...”
The three boys looked at Nichkhun and cringed, each giving him a punch before the Thai offered to kiss and make out with each of them.
