Thanks! It's been a weird 36 hours, but he just got off the phone with the orthopedist's office and it sounds like he should just keep the splint on & wait until Friday afternoon, when they'll look at it & see how it's healing.
Not completely untreated -- he was given a splint to keep his arm still, and was told to ice frequently and take ibuprofen and not to use his arm no really. And we just heard from the orthopedist, who said to keep the splint on 24/7 and come in on Friday instead of today, as they want to see how it's healing before deciding what else to do. Apparently with the splint off there's some risk of the broken piece of bone moving out of place -- which I wish they had told us YESTERDAY since he's been taking the splint off to ice every 30 minutes or so, but hopefully it'll all work out.
My thoughts are with both of you. tell him to get better. the mind is half of all healing. maybe show him pictures of a fully healed x-ray of a wrist will help.
I think I'm the only person I know not sick right now.
Having a busted-up loved one is kinda scary, but it can also be kinda nice. It's one of the few times they let S.O.'s pamper them ridiculously, which can be all kinds of fun. Need any good soup recipes?
It's certainly true that Ken is usually pamper-resistant, so that part is nice! And hopefully this stupid cold will pass so I have more energy to be pampering.
