Very nicely done. I have always found this moment incredibly moving. I think his own rejection of what he has become has fueled his bent toward Deathseeking. At least I have written it so. It is also one of the reasons the N/P pairing is more satisfactory than the N/L one. It is hard to think of the self-centered LeBlanc as able to transcend his scars. You have done an excellent job of rendering this two as they must have been.

Whoa! You have no idea how relieved I am that I didn't ruin these two! Nooj is extraordinarily difficult for me to write, so I'm so happy you think I did well.

I completely agree. I've never liked N/L.
