I agree that in the course of the final books, it'll probably dawn on people that though normally not very visible, Hogwarts couldn't possibly do without the 'Puffs.

I've always felt that JKR is setting up Hufflepuff as something that Harry is going to have to find out, "don't believe everything you're told." We might hear that Hufflepuff is "a load of duffers" but are we shown that? No. All the Hufflepuffs, especially Cedric and Professor Sprout, are very capable and intelligent. I don't think we've met a duffer Hufflepuff yet. (OTOH who have we met who are duffers? Yup, Draco's pet trolls, Crabbe and Goyle. They're repeatedly singled out as being especially thick and incompetent. And they are NOT Hufflepuffs.)

Cedric doesn't sound like a dull guy at all. I bet many girls at Hogwarts had a crush on him XD
Actually, I'm convinced Hufflepuff has the best parties of all.

I think Hufflepuffs with their ability to look after each other and their own in an non-flashy way can give students a great start or basis in life - I'll bet we'll see more of them.
