The Diricawl Way F.A.Q.

What is the point of this community?
This is a challenge community - that is to say that every so often a new challenge will be issued, and members will post responses before the final date of that challenge (in this case mostly art or fanfiction) and they will then be voted on based on different categories.

Here at Diricawl Way, I will attempt to have the topics be unique and interesting - topics you most likely won't find in other themed communities.

What is allowed in this community?
Aside from posts by the mods, most posts should only contain challenge entries. Do NOT advertise in this community or post questions, whether related to the challenges or not. Any questions you have that you don't want to ask in a response to a mod post can be asked in my personnal journal (laverinth) or by e-mailing me at foxxlaverinth @ yahoo . com.

Membership to this community is open, but all posts are moderated. This avoids trolls and off-topic posting.

There are no rules in this community on what characters/pairings you can or cannot post here in response to a challenge. I'm personally something of a canon whore. Does that mean I won't let someone post Charlie/Tonks or Hermione/Ginny images or fics if they want? No. Go right ahead. This community is NOT, however, a place to bring discussions on what characters/pairings are better or which ones you hate, etc. Save that for somewhere else.

Anything rated from G to NC-17 can be posted here. BUT, anything above a PG-13 rating should most definitely be behind a cut tag. A cut can be done as follows: [lj-cut text="whatyouwantthecuttexttosay"] Whatever's in the cut. [/lj-cut] - just replace the "]" brackets with these ">"

THE FORMAT FOR CHALLENGE ENTRIES SHOULD BE AS FOLLOWS:
(These should be done as new posts to the community.)

For fanfiction:
Author's name:
Title:
Characters:
Rating:
Challenge:
Notes:

For artwork:
Artist's name:
Title:
Characters:
Rating:
Challenge:
Notes:

These would then be followed by the image or fic, or a link to them.

What's a Diricawl?
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them lists the Diricawl as follows:

M.O.M. Classification: XX
"The Diricawl originated in Mauritius. A plump-bodied, fluffy-feathered, flightless bird, the Diricawl is remarkable for its method of escaping danger. It can vanish in a puff of feathers and reappear elsewhere (the phoenix shares this ability).

Interestingly, Muggles were once fully aware of the existence of the Diricawl, though they knew it by the name of "dodo." Unaware that the Diricawl could vanish at will, Muggles believe they have hunted it to extinction. As this seems to have raised Muggle awareness of the dangers of slaying their fellow creatures indiscriminately, the International Confederation of Wizards has never deemed it appropriate that the Muggles should be made aware of the continued existence of the Diricawl."
