Hee, I LOVE Contact.
The song has actually two sides. One is the sexual aspect, with all the "wets, harders" and whatsoever.
The other one (especially Angel's solo) is about Angel dying. The "take me" is adressed to death, to finally take him and put an end to his suffering and the pain. I think that the things the others shout are part of Angel hallucinating before his death.
You know, on stage, Angel slumps down after his solo in Contact and is dead. That's why all the "it's overs" are at the end of the song. Mimi and Roger break up, Maureen and Joanne break up, and Collins and Angel are separated as well through death.
Maybe that helps to take the shock away ;)

*blushes at the word 'sexual' ;P*
oh okay, thanks for pointing that out. I have to admit that I was a bit confused about the storyline there. especially why 'I'll cover you' is put directly after 'contact'.
it does, thanks again :)
I so would love to see the musical!

Oh, and "I'll cover you (reprise)" is right after Contact because Angel just died, and the song is sung at his funeral ;)

Bad gardener, shocking people! ;)
You can download two shows with the OBC on google.video, you want me to send you the link?
One of them is a "normal" performance back from 1996 on Broadway, the other one is the 10th anniversary performance from April 2006, and they both give you the feeling that you have at least seen the musical a little bit... if that makes sense :D

indeed.
yes please :)
it does, but I'd like to see the real thing sometime soon :(
do you know if they translate the dialogues and the songs? cause I saw a video (the only one at youtube.com) from a performance in germany, it was 'one song glory' and... I'll just show you, it's this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZULqjj0euY
by the way, do you know how to make good icons? *pouts*
