...my good friends Patty & Larry, a lovely couple with two little girls, retained my services to give a mini-lecture on evolution and the big bang theory to their girls. Both parents are devoted punk rock atheists and the questions started coming forth quicker than they could google them, and as I'm a bit handy with such things they brought me over to field them.
After a brief little talk and some delightfully earnest questions, Anna-Grace, the youngest at 6 (at the time), looked back and forth from me to her older sister looking thoroughly confused.
"Lindsay, so you mean that more space blew up into even more space and created the stuff that makes stuff, then we ended with germs and dinosaurs and stuff and we used to be monkeys????!!!!"
"Well, sort of ---"
"Pffft. I believe in Santa Claus more than I believe in THAT."
