one of the nice things about spring since moving in to this house is feeding the Mallard ducks in the back yard that make our pool their temporary home each year....if only my camera's cord for the re-charger wasn't lost somewhere between here and Germany o_0 i'll try to post some photos once i get a replacement...

I had a really awesome duck moment once, my only one really. I had an apartment in High Park in the summer of 2003 and I was working out by the air port at that time. I had to be at work early and the commute was killer so I'd orged a ride for myself and was sitting outside waiting for them to show up. I could hear a duck making all sorts of noise and it took a moment for me to see her since she blended in rather well with the parking lot. She was leading a dozen ducklings up the driveway, walking on top of the curb. The duckings would stop every few steps and one by one attempt to make the jump from the pavement up onto the sidewalk. All of the noise from the duck had seemed like encouragement. I really wish I'd been able to hang out there and see if they'd all made it up onto the sidewalk but my ride came then. I love ducks, they're comical and calming to watch. It must be really cool to have them hanging out in your pool!
