what's amazing to me is the authority with which those with priviledge criticize those who experience such disadvantages that those with priviledge have never had to bear.

my housemate just started working for a shelter/halfway house for runaway kids and she says it's knocked her on her ass. in a good way. i think she's begun to unpack her white-privilege knapsack.
