violent crime rates in the US just amaze me....for instance, in Detroit that is right across the bridge from Canada and has about the same population as Ottawa, their murder rate as of their 2008 statistics is 40.8 reported cases of homicide for every 100 000 people which makes it just under 400 murders a year, hundreds?! i've spent years both researching and working in my fields of study, but even a student who makes it past first year can tell you that there is no ONE answer for violence, and embracing something like racism simply contributes to the objectification of human beings, and thusly contributes to the mindset/attitudes/beliefs et. al. that help to enable violence between people...so not only are you spewing prejudiced, arrogant, ego-centric hatred by helping to propagate this kinda of harmful scapegoating, but you are also contributing directly to the violence that i assume you are claiming you do not support.
